Second best in Arizona! He did go to an amazing university
I knew GCU was doing better when I moved, but didn’t realize it became the best in stateSecond best in Arizona!
I was at the game in Baltimore when we lost on a last second FG set up by the unnecessary roughness penalty on Wilson when he put Heap to sleep. Pretty sure that was early in the 2007 season. Not sure Heap was ever right after that hit.Ask Todd Heap and Vernon Davis who the better safety was
I was at the game in Washington in 1993 when he knocked TE Ron Middleton unconscious in the middle of the field. I swear you could hear the impact from the upper deck of RFK. No penalty on the play & we won that game in OT. Still the most vicious hit I can recall. Cecil was 190 lbs. & Middleton was like 265 lbs.No Chuck Cecil?

If Chuck played today he would’ve been given lethal injection by the NFL:No Chuck Cecil?

With all due respect to Budda, I'm not sure if people are accurately remembering Adrian Wilson as a player. He was just a different kind of dude. Offenses respect Budda's game, but they were straight up scared of A-Dub in his prime.

I think it's the young guys that didn't get to see him playIt’s literally recency. It’s it’s the only explanation. ADub def the better overall player.
This article turned me from being a casual Cardinals fan into a Cards junkie. No Chuck Cecil?

Yep we are talking about entirely different eras.Entirely different players, entirely different eras, entirely different rules. AW was very good, as is Budda. The pros & cons for each of them really don’t align.
Absolutely. Love both of the them! Will NEVER forget AW’s tears after winning the NFC Championship game & Budda’s locker room “I’m tired of losing” tirade. These are special players and special people. Exactly why AW is still in the Cardinal organization & hopefully why I hope Budda always stays close after his playing days are over.Yep we are talking about entirely different eras.
if I'm picking a player to play now it's Budda. Wilson's style of play wouldn't translate to the NFL today. He would get flagged on every play for unnecessary roughness.
Walked into that one!I knew GCU was doing better when I moved, but didn’t realize it became the best in state
That and I don't think he would be nearly as effective playing as deep as a lot of safeties play now.Yep we are talking about entirely different eras.

I remember hearing the story of WHEN Adrian Wilson's career turned around. It was during Denny Green's first year as coach and Adrian Wilson overheard two coaches talking about him. One coach made a comment about how he looked like a beast or something like that, but the other coach said something to the effect, "Yeah....but he's just a guy..." Wilson was shocked by this comment since he thought he was a good player and from that point on he worked harder. You must be registered for see images attach

Love Budda "The Missile" Baker, but at 6' 3" and 230, AW was the more physically imposing player. Baker is 5' 10" and about 195.
I remember AW's career starting a little slow, but he worked hard to get better and he always had pretty good ball instincts. A little better than Bakers. AW's size also allowed him to be a little better at getting home on blitzes.
I like how @Dayman said it. While defenses respect Budda, and work hard to account for him on most plays, opposing defenses must have feared Wilson.
Totally agree with this post. A-Dub is in my top 10 favorite Cardinals and, at the current pace, Buddha will join him on my personal list.A-Dub. That single tear running down his cheek as confetti poured down around him after winning the NFC Championship is an indelible image that will live in my head forever.
But Budda has really grown on me the last couple years. Giving his heart and soul in a year where other leaders… uh… have not… has bumped him up in my estimation.
