Bigger role to do what? He is a bench guy and not a great defender. I think the Suns already know what they have in him no? This smacks more of them trying to round out the roster and add some shooting off the bench.

Bigger role, as in part of the rotation in 2016/17. See if his knees are any good.
It's one thing to go all-in on a free agent or a #1 draft pick, but you still have to fill out your roster. This year is a waste, so it's all about potential keepers for next year.
OK, I get what your saying. I was taking a slightly different take in that it's actually the same role he has been playing not a bigger one the Suns are looking for. It will help round out the roster but this is not a big deal.

Yeah, I get it. I don't think he'll stick because of his health issues, but you never know with Aaron Nelson as our trainer.
