I searched for a thread on this. Couldn't believe there wasn't one.
I've bought the first three seasons of this for $15 a pop at WalMart. The first season only has 12 episodes, but 22 for all the others. I'm really enjoying seeing how Whedon's vision is more palpable on TV than the farce the movie was. It's brilliant how he uses the horror genre as a metaphor for teen angst, gender gap, growing pains, etc., and there's no end to the many angles they approach.
I think it's pretty clear Whedon's strength is in re-writing his youth and relating to teens. He gets it.
