Busts and cuts???

I know it's early to give up on people, but Davis and Breaston show me nothing and I'm sorry to say, Rolle is a bust. He couldn't even cover or tackle 2nd teamers. He just can't do the job. I don't see how switching him to safety will accomplish much as his tackling skills are worse then his cover skills.

Breaston has turned out to be a good pick. Did fumble tonight but has had an impressive preseason.

Breaston had a nice return on the last TD drive that gave us a pretty good position. That appears to be a good find.

Breaston was a good pick....he played great in the Rose Bowl, and it seems that he can do a good job in the NFL too.

I was happy they drafted Davis, but I'm really starting to think they made a big mistake

he's not making errors that are correctable, he's just flat out being run over and outpaced

he was run over last week by Gado a few times, and Pinnock abused him tonight as well

I think Breaston is a keeper, I like his speed and at least he has some ability to change directions on the run. That isn't something I've seen out of a lot of return guys we've had on the team for awhile.

Breaston? You are CRAZY!!! As someone who watched about every game he ever played in at MICH, I can tell you as far as kick returners go, he's a keeper. Runs a helluva reverse and good on WR screens too, but his vertical speed is incredible.

Now, he does go down pretty easy, but if he doesn't mess around dancing and crap, he wants to get to that endzone as quick as possible. If he can get past that first line, he can get downfield in a hurry so he'll be a keeper at KR. You shouldn't see him "muffing" any kicks either...

I agree. I was excited about him as well. But he looks really slow and is just so easily blocked out of a play. I don't want to say the guy isnt even trying because he probably is it just looks like he isn't.

As to the original thread starters idea about Breaston. I think Breaston is going to give us the best return man we have had since I can remember. Giving our O the short field that I think our O can really take advantage of.

You are so right about Charmin (Rolle). He is squeezable so soft. What a waist of a 1st round draft choice. He even looked so dejected that we really need to cut him. He Sucks from the word go.

Serously, I hate to say it but Hunter looks a lot better than Rolle does right now...I have been reluctant to say it but he could very well be a bust.

I agree...I really was happy with Buster but boy, is he just getting dominated out there. Sometimes a motor just isn't enough.


I'm concerned, still, that I haven't heard much of a peep from Branch either...especially with him playing against second/third teamers....

Breaston is a poor man's Teddy Ginn...he'll take a couple to the house this year.

Instead of taking on the block, he cut to his left and took on a Charger that would've been out of the play. As he made his move, it left the first guy to run at full speed right at Breaston without enough time for Breaston to react.

I saw that. Overall, unimpressive outing for Morey.

Outside of Brown, Steve Breaston has been far and away the best of the draft choices. He really does need to secure the ball better, but all in all, he's been very, very impressive this pre-season.

They both suck immensely.

Both are what they are.... second teamers. They make for decent back-ups that you hope to only have to rely on for a short period of time.

What sucks for us is that we need eithor one of them to play a full season for us as a starter, which both have shown they aren't capable of doing at a high enough level.

I know it's only preseason, but I didn't see a whole lot of "vanilla" defense last night, and I didn't see San Diego's punter either. Bad combo.

I didnt see Pace once around the ball tonight, and low and behold, he wasn't even credited with a tackle

he should definitely be cut if they can bring a guy from another team

I dont see how you can say breaston has shown you nothing, hes not going to be a good wr in this league but he will be a great return guy and we need that real bad. I agree on buster davis though I hope he turns it around in the reg season but so far in the preseason games he has looked real soft
