He never said Celtics but he wasn't clear about focusing on game 3 and then game 4 either...this is where college might help some of these players. :D

As for going up 3-0 - - - No, it wouldn't technically be over, but the previous 93 times it has happened it has been over. 94 times if the Celtics can somehow manage to hang on and win their series against the Magic.

Thats less of a series than Suns/MPLS

If the Suns played like this in Game 3 and here on out, Bynum might be looking forward to playing the Celtics on NBA 2k10 pretty soon.

It would be hilarious if Bynum sat, Lopez continued to play well, and the Suns won the series because of their superior big men.

LA Times is advocating sitting Bynum for the rest of the series due to his knee and his horrible stats last night. http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-plaschke-lakers-20100524,0,1868330.column

The Headline is Bulletin Board material:
Lakers need to rest Andrew Bynum until the NBA Finals

Sit him down. Sit him down from now until Boston.
...
If the Lakers can't beat the Suns without Bynum, then they don't deserve to go to the NBA Finals anyway. This is not about the last week in May. This is about the first week in June. This is about a run at Kendrick Perkins and the Boston Celtics and history.

That's the motivational speech coach Gentry could use now to fire up our guys.:D

With the way we have played the last two games, I don't blame him for making these comments. But isn't there a fine line between, let's say, hinting at something and outright professing what's going to happen? Speaks volumes for someone who really hasn't even played much on one bum knee.

I wonder if this could add any bulletin material for the Suns even though they have been clearly dominated by the Lakers so far.

They should put this in Suns' lockroom. Didn't Suns play better defense after Jet (mavs) said "they can't play ANY defense"? Suns came back and beat them.

I must say the whimsy in some of your recent posts is quite enjoyable.

Lopez or Amundson needs to put Gasol on his ass just once early in Game 4 though. Gasol is a delicate flower and he needs his confidence dented.

If Bynum does sit, wouldn't that put Odom in the starting line up? That could be good or bad for us, depending if he shows up. I can see Amare getting into foul trouble...

Perhaps, but it also means their bench becomes much thinner. Bynum is clearly not 100% in this series and Gasol and Odom have had to pick up the slack for them in this series.

My take is if you pull Odom off the bench to start, you give our bench the clear advantage. I acknowledge that guys like Farmar and Brown are playing well, but they are currently playing out of their mind while our bench is floundering a bit. In addition, I see Jackson leaving his starters in with the bench guys to start the 2nd and 4th quarters. Last night, Kobe played 43 minutes, Gasol 45 and Artest 41. IMO, that is the reason we were able to pull away late in the 4th quarter. These guys were winded.

If Odom starts, that literally depletes their bench. Who is their next big man off the bench in case Pau or Lamar get into foul trouble? Umbenga (sp?)?

Josh Powell and DJ Mbenga ("m" is silent)

Described in one word: "who?"

The only time I remember seeing Mbenga in action was Shaq's first home game as a Sun and coming off an inbound pass, Shaq slammed it in his face.

Shaq's only highlight as a Sun for that matter. *sigh*
