He had nothing along side of him all year so he was the target of double teams. I saw him being double teamed a lot this season.

Great players split double teams they just do sorry they just do.

He's getting 15 million a year.

Such a bunk excuse im tired of hearing. Great players especially ones that make 15+ million dollars should be splitting double teams a few times a game and making pays.. Not disappearing for a few games at a time like they ar neon existent. That also doesn't explain his complete disappearance in his ability to bat down passes which doesn't even exist anymore..

+1

All you need to see is the Panthers game, Kwan Short is going to make a lot of money in his next contract. He splits double teams, triple teams, and the whole team need be.

Campbell's contract situation needs to be address, and personally, I do not think Campbell is worth top of the line money at his position.

To be fair, he's only "making" $9.5M in the last year of his deal — his cap number is $15M from pro-rated bonuses.

FWIW, I don't think you get better on defense by cutting the third-best member of your defense with no plan to replace him. He's a team captain who has been productive for the last 7 years and was just named to his second Pro Bowl. He's not J.J. Watt, but he's still arguably the best 3-4 DE in the NFL.

I think that Chopper's generally right that the Cards should seek to extend Campbell for 2-3 years in a way that gives him $12M this year but reduces his cap number to $7M or so for the rest of the deal.

exactly. Time to start grooming his replacement is now. Time to jettison him remains a few years away.

Go Cards!!!

Ide be ok with that... I'm not saying cut him but his cap number needs to be addressed.

Have to agree with this. I love Calais the person but he's just not producing at a 15m level and the excuses for him just aren't holding water anymore.

Does JJ Watt get doubleteamed? Does he still manage to produce? Because guess what, CC's cap hit is BIGGER than JJ Watts. I dont think people realize how much Calais is making for how little he is producing.

That's how overpaid he is right now. CC is going to either have to take a pay cut or get traded because he is just not worth the cap hit that we are taking with him. It's sad, but it's true. I hope he will just restructure his deal because he is a major cap liability. People just have to remember when the Cardinals signed him to this deal they signed him to be a dominant player, not a guy who makes some really good plays every few games.

Does he suck? Is he horrible? Ofcourse not, but you cant make excuses and give a guy a pass who is eating up almost 10% of your salary cap.
