I dunno about "precisely". It's definitely a factor, so is the lack of good blocking (and injuries actually helped the line when Ross got hurt), turnovers at crucial times, and J.J. Arrington leaving all his moves in college.

Great, that just made the DC's job tough. Pendergast has lost a valuable cog in this defense. Our defense is good because in can give you so many looks. Now, our options are drying up.

We lost one of the best blocking fullbacks in the game. While JJ hasn't been good, he certainly hasn't had all the tools that he should have at his disposal.

Our special teams play has been hurt by the loss of our top return man and other injuries has forced worse players into special teams roles.

On defense, we are down to I believe our 4th middle linebacker. Then we lose our run stuffing DT. We are down multiple corners. It's amazing our defense has played like it has because few teams could lose 4 starters on defense and stay competitive.
