how does a player get paid with a "questionable accident" like this? remember thomas jones. i dont know if it was ever proven that it was in a fight or not or how he got paid........ i would really like to know...... i'm really starting to get tired of some of these players "stealing a check". am i wrong to be this hard?

Man, there has got to be a lot more to this story than just a simple accident. It reminds me too much of Jones and that deal with Jeff Kent a couple of years back.

Mon, 17 Oct 2005 13:19:34 -0700

Darren Urban, of the East Valley Tribune, reports Arizona Cardinals DE Calvin Pace (arm) cut himself in a household accident during the Bye week. Pace is out for the season following arm surgery.

Can it get much worse!?

I hope this was not a result of trying to answer the phone.

And the Clint Barmes-Todd Helton deer hunting fiasco a few months back. Are we really supposed to believe a sober adult blessed with pro-caliber athleticism just slips through windows? I find all this very questionable.

Calvin Pace's Agent: "Hide those empty bottles of George Dickle whiskey before the NFL finds them, Calvin! We'll all act like you just lost your balance doing household chores!"

This is so ridiculous..........

Pace probably just had his best Pro game ever. Everyone whined about Panthers injuries last year, how many did they have on IR?

Yeah, I know. I was too busy at work to really participate in any conversations yesterday.

Stupid work.

he had 3 in 1 game, that's what springboarded him up. He's playing well, but I would rather have Berry and Okeafor.

It was his choice. The Cards wanted to keep him, but he wanted to be somewhere where he'd get playing time. As such, his move was perfectly understanadable.

I'm sorry to say that I'm not going to be able to post anymore this season. I've been put on the physically unable to post list. I got my second cousin typing this for me right now.

It was a freak accident really. You see, last Friday Uncle Jim Horton and I were out in the woods hunting deer. It was a really nice day and all, and we were sick of sitting in our tree stands just waiting for the deer to come by. So Uncle Jim decided that we should jump on our dirtbikes and see if we could flush them out. I thought that was a great idea, so I took my trusty remington, slung her over my shoulder, took a big swig of the ol' shine, and jumped on my bike.

It wasn't too long before we're chasing the deer in the large meadow near the barn with our bikes. Uncle Jim was a hootin' and a hollerin' like I hadn't heard since last Tuesday's square dance. Them deer were scared to death - they knew that if they didn't get away quick like, they were going to be stuffed, mounted, and caught posed in a photo tangodancin' style before long.

I pulled my rifle up to my shoulder, holding the bike's handlebar with my left hand, and holding the rifle only with my right hand. I had a huge buck lined up and was all ready to git my shoot on, and then I hit some kind of bump. Before I knew it - I was poppin' a wheelie on my bike, still lining up the shot, hunting deer... wow what a sight I musta been! I felt like I was Little Joe Cartwright right then and there, but with a little evil kneevil thrown in being on the bike and all... and bam! I took that shot and did I ever put a whooppin on that deer. There'd be no trackin' thats for sure, he was down and out.

So I decided right then that moment that I had to get ol' pop on the line and let him know what I'd all up and accomplished. And I reached down for my phone. I started dialin' old pops and then just bam it happened - the back tire of my bike - I'm still doing that wheelie, mind you, hit the wooden wheel that Ellie Mae had taken off the wagon last week near the barn, and boy did I get thrown.

It coulda been a lot worse, I still had that rifle slung on my back and all, and I sure as hell wasn't wearin' no sissie helmet. But I'll tell you, what really did it was I now was so close to the barn, and when I got thrown I went right through one of dem windows. Cut my arm up reaaaaal bad.

So anyway, I'm on the PUP.

Sissy. Rub some dirt on it and walk it off. Don't cry over spilled milk.
