Camby and Salmons would be great for the Suns. They are supposedly on the block. I could think of two scenarios beneficial for us:

1. LB+Lopez for Camby. And Marbury signs min. as our PG backup.

2. LB+Lopez for Camby; and Nash for Salmons + Udrih

Well, we'd have a killing team in either scenario!:)

Camby is one of the only players I'd trade LB for.

I'd move Shaq to the bench with Camby.

The clippers have already said they aren't shopping and won't trade any of their big men.

And do you believe what they say? Wouldn't it be sound business (haggling) strategy to say so to bump up bidding prices? Like, "but for a good enough compensation we had no choice but do this deal, in the interest of the franchise".:p

If the Suns wanted Camby, they would have gotten him this summer when the Nuggets were giving him away. Also, what in the world would lead you to believe there would be any mutual interest in Marbury? If your answer is "to piss off D'Antoni", maybe... but not gonna happen

I would also consider a trade involving LB for Camby.

However, Shaq off the bench? Your freaking nuts. Not the way he is playing. Would love love love love to have Camby. However, coming off the bench not starting. Camby can play "D" but dominates nobody on the offensive end. We need Shaq on the block. We need Shaq's easy buckets. We need Shaq's big body down low.

No. Nuggets wanted cap room and picks for Camby. Suns had neither.

Marbury has always been a good citizen when in Phoenix. In case LB is gone, there is more playing time for him here than with Celtics. Pissing off DA would be extra motivation for him to fit in well.

I think the suns had a second round pick, which is what he was traded for to the clippers.

In a van...down by the river.
Love Camby but once again(if it were to happen) i think it would be a deal that would be 2 yrs too late.
Had we had a Camby in Amare's injury riddled season or the suspension season we may have won a title already. Then again D'Antoni would've had little use for him so bleh.

This is a joke, right?

No. Conditional on both go through, we'd have:

Shaq/Amare/Hill/JR/Udrih starting and
Camby/Salmons/Barnes/Amundson/Dragic/Dudley on bench.

It's a better roster to go deep into the playoffs than we have now.

Well, yes, but only because Camby for Barbosa is a heist. As long as you're pushing that trade through, quit while you're ahead. Adding Salmons and Udrih for Nash at that point makes the team worse, not better.

Dude, you wanted to move Shaq to bench WITHOUT Camby.

True. I still want to do that as well or at the very least change the rotations around. If the plan is to 'just throw the ball into Shaq when Nash is on the bench' as Barbosa put it, then Shaq's minutes need to be limited at the beginning of halves so he can play that end of 1st/3rd beginning of 2nd/4th quarter stretch that Nash rests.

A.) Camby for Barbosa is not even close to realistic. Clips just drafted Barbosa and his name is Eric Gordon. no sense in having two of the same players on a team, especially at their size and ability..

B.) Trading Nash for Salmons/Udrih makes absolutely no sense for Sacramento. 1.) they are rebuilding. 2.) Both Salmons and Udrih have great contracts. 3.) Nash is 34, Udrih 26 and Salmons 29. Nash has no business there. he doesnt make them any better, and arguable hurts them in the long run.

Both make absolutely no sense for either team, so its kinda pointless to talk about them as even being remotely realistic.

Trading Camby for a 2nd round pick isn't realistic.... Trading Gasol for peanuts isn't realistic....

Shaq WILL NOT sit on the bench for anyone. Shaq is our starting center, period...end of discussion

Really surprised to hear you say that...thought you would just want to improve the team and create more depth.

I do want to create more depth but not at the expense of benching the most consistent player on the team.

When a team like Denver is looking to rid themselves of over $15mil in salary, well trading an expiring contract for a second round pick makes perfect sense. what else were they going to do? it was purely a dump. granted it Camby is a solid player, but what else were they going to do?

i'll agree that trading Gasol was kinda stupid. but the Grizz gained youth, expiring, and cap space.

what do the above trades do for they other teams involved?

Only way I see a trade of one of our major pieces happening is in some crazy 3 way trade now. I just don't see any nearly straight up trades that are very realistic.

We'd definitely miss Barbosa's explosiveness off the bench. He's a different player now. I like the NEW Barbosa better than the run down the lane jump at the hoop and throw the ball away Barbosa.

Now, Raptors are about to acquire Marion and Banks for JO. Maybe we could do Nash for Calderon + Parker deal to give Bryan C. an almost idential Suns team, with Bosh replacing Amare in Canada. ;)

Bosh-Bargani-Marion-Graham-Nash

That's DA or Don Nelson's dream team!
