can any of our teams progression or regression be judged by the first preseason game

I thought we looked just fine. The defense was solid, and the offense moved the ball. I couldn't care less about what the third string did with BSP.

Everything after the first quarter isn't worth worrying about, but the second quarter looked good too.

Garvin also looks like he might have the goods, and I want to see him against starting talent.

Yeah. Honestly, it's the first preseason game. All this loss means it that Pittsburgh's scrubs are better scrubs than our scrubs.

I liked the way Palko took over late in the game and he has some athleticism which our other QBs don't have.

Over all I didn't see much to be concerned about. Pretty good for the first game.

I did like the play of some of our young players. Vets looked solid.

I like Toler at CB and Garvin at KR.
Palko looked poised and had good delivery on his passes.

Well, we looked a lot better than we usually do the first preseason game. We almost always suck bad in that game. For example, New Orleans last year.

Our #1 offense looked like it could have marched up and down the field all day on those guys.

Nobody got hurt. I'm happy.

Typical first preseason game. First team looked competitive better than most years. Don't think anybody got hurt which is usually the main concern.

Yeah, I cringed when Warner virtually got Hi-Low'd by the Steelers in the 1st half.

I noticed what seemed to be small thing, but our guys seemed alot more serious on the sideline. They showed several shots of Ward, Harrison, etc playing grab-ass, laughing and joking. Didn't see much of that from the Cards. Maybe when I watch the replay I'll get a different take.

My manlove for Fitz grows everytime I see him

Agreed. that is how I read it.

I wouldn't take too much from the game, but it lets you see if players are stepping up to their new roles, and if anyone is in trouble of losing their jobs.

Not really.

The only thing I noticed much was that Garvin is pretty good at returns and we're dangerously bad on blocking the rush on punts.

I thought the first team offense and defense did very well considering it was @Pittsburgh. That's all I really took from it.

Less penalties= better concentration better coaching...?

Excellent observation. The Cards looked like an NFL football team instead of a couple of good players surrounded by a bunch of circus clowns like we used to see.
