Since you are apparently unfamiliar with sarcasm, we shall conclude the conversation here. ;)

Seriously though, no I don't. Kobe is the legit MVP in my opinion. It's close with Chris Paul, he's amazing, but I think this is Kobe's year.
explain to me, why do you think he is a legit mvp this year?

What? He never does that. Ever. BTW, that's just basketball. Everyone does it. But Bruce doesn't. Or something. He's clean. I love him and want to have his children.

He cursed out his teammates and demanded a trade, making fans and experts alike fear he would either protest or force his way off the team within the first month of the season.

I can't look past that and still consider someone to be of the most value. I can't give someone props for shutting themselves up and playing the game while theyre supposed to do it in the first place.

If you vote Kobe mvp this year, isnt that like giving a child a piece of candy or a new toy after calming down from a temper tantrum? Youre rewarding him for shutting up and doing what he is supposed to: earn millions of dollars playing basketball while living it up in the hollywood hills.

If you vote for Kobe, you are a bad parent.

Think of the children.

Uhm. Do you also want the sun rising each day explained to you as well?
you know, i was hoping for a serious answer.
i was looking for justification from a lakers fan.

since you laker people can't contrive a legit answer.

i'm going to say:

1) you cant explain why kobe deserves the mvp awared

2) you cant explain why the sun "rises" each day

95, we have explained it so many times we are blue in the face. If you honestly don't understand why Kobe is in the MVP hunt, there is nothing we can do for you. If you really want to know, just go back through my posts, I'm not going to keep explaining it to people that already know the answer and just want to hate on Kobe. You know full well why he's the MVP, I'm not taking the bait again. You're just going to hate on him no matter what we say anyway.

i'm asking for your 2cents. i dont want to go searching through your posts for an answer, since you cant answer. so much for being civil.

Lebron still gets the edge, sorry. More points, more rebounds, more assists, more blocks.

Just don't be all hands down easily expecting kobe to get mvp, because lebron is right there too.

The Cavs aren't good enough for Lebron to be mvp.

Kobe'd have been MVP the last two seasons if that mattered. His crappy team in the east, no less, should get him a 3rd or 4th on the ballot.

I don't know why you'd seek out justification from lakers fans. The reasoning for him being a legit MVP candidate is right in front of your face, and talked about everywhere.

Basically, he's the best player on one of the top 5 teams in the league, carries his team when needed, has helped young talent develop, and has fought through injuries to his team (Pau, Bynum, Ariza) and to himself (shooting hand that will be operated on in the offseason) and has held his team at or near the best in the West status, in a season where the West has been the most competitive in YEARS. And it is getting close to certain that the Lakers will hold that number one spot.

His team consists of one other person who has made an all-star game, and that person only did it one time. And has only been with the team since February.

He's an All-NBA defender, and will likely be first team again this year.

He is routinely double teamed, and sometimes tripled. Probably sees more doubles than any other player in the league.

If you don't think he's a legit MVP, you have mental problems.

Kobe is a dick that constantly ******* at his teammates and throws fits when they make mistakes. That's why he is the MVP.

Bryant will win the award with approximately half of the first-place votes. Paul second, Garnett third, James fourth, Stoudemire fifth. That's not my ballot; it's the way the voting will come out.

I hope they give Kobe the MVP. I'm sick of people crying around about what a crime it is that it hasn't happened yet.

Kobe could average 40 point, 10 rebounds and 10 assists on 70% FG shooting, his team could win 82 games and some people would still find a way to bitch about Kobe.

Oh, that's right. I corrected it for you.

seriously, people need to stop bringing MJ into a conversation involving Kobe. There's really no comparison between the two players at this point in their careers. One consistently scored more points, got more rebounds, assists, shot a better percentage, played better defense and consistently single-handedly carried their team (even as lower seeds) over better opponents while never losing to lesser opponents.

that being said, this is the first year Kobe deserves MVP and that's why he'll get it.

And both were ***** to their teammates at times during their careers and bitched at teammates and were pissed when their teammates made mistakes. But its only an issue when Bean did it. People shouldn't bring that kind of stuff up if they don't want to have MJ inserted into the conversation. It's hypocritical.

Let me throw in my two cents into the Kobe MVP debate. I don't believe he is the MVP of this season, I think Paul is more deserving, though it is relatively close. But Kobe will win it, and only because of people like Wojnarowski who wrote in his column that Kobe should win the MVP over Paul because Paul hasn't been first-team all-NBA yet and hasn't been to playoffs yet. In other words, voters will treat the MVP award as a sort of a lifetime achievement award rather than an award recognizing the player who has accomplished more this season and this season alone. Voters had wanted to give the award to Kobe for a long time, but they could never really justify it until this season. Those voters won't look at who the true MVP is, they will give it to Kobe because this is as close as Kobe has ever been to winning the award, and they may not get another chance to vote for him in the future.

Is that why Kobe has never finished higher than third? Even two years ago when he had one of the best seasons ever and led his team to the playoffs who, without him, probably would have finished dead last in the Western Conference?

A lot of writers are looking for a reason not to give it to Kobe, not the other way around.

Two years ago, Lakers won 45 games. Hard to justify giving the award to someone on a team that barely made the playoffs.
