As others have said I would like to see him play Sunday against the Dallas first string Oline. If he can even create pressure on a consistent basis then I think he deserves a spot on the roster. If he gets eaten alive by the Dallas tackles then see ya later Capi. It would be nice to see them put Capi in on third and long to see if he can generate a pass rush.

I'm sure they've seen plenty of that exact thing in practice during one on one and 11 on 11.

Freeny was way more than just a speed rusher. May have one of the best spin moves ever.

This is my point, a speed rusher has to have moves to use their speed. A bull rusher is the one which does not need moves to get around you since they simply go through you... if Cap is getting sacks with his speed, he has more than one

That's a lot of spindoctoring in there too me. A speed rusher rusher around tackles. The spin move would be having two ways of getting to the QB. So far I've only seen CC using his speed to get around the edge.

I've seen him set them up with speed outside & then the next play he starts outside and uses a swim move to beat them inside.

He didn't make the splash plays in game 2, but he had pressure. He played some towards the end of the 2nd & 4th qtrs.

Hopefully he shows more in game 3.

I watched some of his plays over again and I think the play you're talking about the tackle moved left quick after the snap because he was being burned and CC reacted and cut inside. The tackle tripped over his own feet and damn near fell down. My point is I need to see it when he not playing against future insurance salesmen.

He's still 4th string on the current depth chart.. and apparently his real name is Nordly (who knew?!)
Nord Nordly?

Cap's development raises a different issue - Wilks talks about "discipline within the system." Is it possible that 4 or 5 LB's are developing within Holcombe's system at a faster than expected rate - and that Capi is being roadblocked by better talent ahead of him?

It's a good kind of problem (though maybe not for Cap).

I dont think so. if a group of players are all showing similar performance a decent coach will be using pre season to rotate them in different scenarios against different levels of competition. we have not seen Capi run against anybodys ones which suggests they are fairly certain he is a backup type player..... but with the starters getting more snaps in this weeks game we should watch to see if he gets some snaps against the dallas ones

If Dora and Capi do not make this team, where the hell is the incentive for one to sign with the Cards and see any worth in preseason because both have been lights out rushing the passer in a passing league

I'm sure there are 31 other teams tripping over themselves to sign preseason star Cap Capi. If only he could play against 4th stringers his entire career!

A strip sack actually and he recovered the fumble.
I'm a great believer in playmaking results.

Show me one guy with great write-ups and workout scores and another with big sack, pick, forced fumble, total tackles and/or fumble recovery totals and I lean heavily toward the guy who actually makes plays.

The only missing component on Capi's resume appears to be run-stopping - something to watch for tonite.

No no no! It's the crap of draft selection because if a lot of fourth round picks where performing like him even late they would stick... truth

Cap better be signed! Shoot he was the best D lineman for the past 3 games by a mile. One guy said, 'well he doesn't stop the run well.' yea but he constantly got pressure on the qb.
He won't last one second on the open market if he's cut....added I'll be ticked off if they let him walk (not that they, or anyone else cares)

I quit reading this thread about a page and a half ago. Why play a preseason if you don't sign the players that stand out in the games, whether it be against second stringers or whatever?

I don't even know where to begin with this post.

first off your comment that he won't last one second on the open market is laughable. Capi has been on 6 teams and released 8 times in the past 4 years while trying to stick on a NFL roster. So it's not like he hasn't been given a chance or teams don't know about him.

Next, your comment that he was the best D Lineman the past 3 games neglects to mention that he was the best against the worst. I like Capi and his motor. However until he performs against real talent he is nothing more than a fringe bubble player.

Could somebody give Cap a freaking chance against the ones, that he has at least earned... Dora though is my priority
