I just watched it. I wanted to see this one because of Hoffman winning the Oscar. I’ve been a huge fan of his since I saw him in one of my favorite movies, The Big Lebowski. I had never heard of Truman Capote, so it’s difficult to totally comprehend what an amazing performance he pulled off, but by the end of the film he had me thinking that I knew who he was.

Talk about burying yourself in a role, Hoffman was amazing, really. A natural for that part.

Should it be possible to win Best Actor for a movie that was very "blah"?

He had a wonderful performance, don't get me wrong. I watched this movie a couple of months ago and I have no intention of ever seeing again.

Philip Seymour Hoffman was brilliant in the part of Capote.

Saw it tonight with friends on DVD -- Not a fun movie, quite chilling - "My front door sociopathy against your back door sociopathy" -- but extremely well done, intelligent, subtle, complex, and Philip Seymour Hoffman was un-effing-believably flawless. How do you recover from playing a role like that??
