Okay, here are a couple of ideas that maybe some of the talented ASFN'ers can run with.

Two songs come to mind. One is a song for Larry Fitzgerald to the melody of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

The other would be the entire team to the Billy Joel song, "We didn't start the fire".

I know there is somebody out there that can do this.

We've started singing a song ...that we heard while in line at the Atl game

it goes

'Glory Glory Arizona'
'Glory Glory Arizona'
'Glory Glory Arizona - We're the greatest team in the land!'

-then yell and start it up again

some irishman was singing it and our group has been singing it ever since.

You asked for it, you got it! I was very bored at work, so you get...The Legend of Larry Fitzgerald!

The legend was born up in Minnesota,
The land of lakes where football’s hallowed,
The state, it is said, never gives up its men,
Until they lost Larry Fitzgerald.

With hands tried and true, leaping ability too,
The legend Fitzgerald was comin’,
A ball boy before, but soon he was more,
At Pitt he was destined for scorin’.

Now Fitz was the pride of the Panthers for a time,
But there were more chapters to his story,
The Cardinals they drafted this polished wideout,
The legend that was destined for glory.

Concluding his terms to lead on the Big Red,
He donned his pro number eleven jersey,
And strapping on his white helmet and pads,
He was ready to rewrite history.

It was 2008 and the Cardinals were great,
Up until they had clinched their division,
They were facing the end of ambition’s high aims,
The real threat of ending their season.

The Seahawks came last, with the playoffs coming fast,
The Witch of January was callin’,
Then Whisenhunt frowned, Fitzgerald’s teeth ground,
For they both knew their season was stallin’.

They suited up tough, Christmas practice was rough,
And worked on fixing fundamentals,
Then Fitzgerald put the whole team on his back,
His leadership so instrumental.

The Falcons came in and Fitzgerald grinned,
For he knew what Todd Haley had in store,
A long bomb to start, and the Falcons lost heart,
So the Cardinals would at least play one more.

The experts never gave Fitzgerald his due,
And they downplayed the Cardinal’s chances,
But Fitz played a David to the Panther’s Goliath,
And they made the world take second glances.

Then Philly, it was said, would bleed the Cards red,
And shut down Fitzgerald’s receiving,
But the Eagles fell short of backing their talk,
And the Eagles were only self-deceiving.

Yet ‘Zona is labeled a second-rate team,
Fitzgerald is only one man,
Though Super Bowl bound, for defeat they are bound,
When against the Steelers they stand.

But Fitzgerald’s teammates are ready to fight,
And the Steelers won’t know just what hit them,
They’ll have no reply when Fitz takes off and flies,
And they’ll lose XLIII in the end.

In a musty old hall back in Pottsville they prayed,
That Fitzgerald would be denied,
Their wishes all dashed, their hatreds collapsed,
The potency of curses belied.

The legend lives on from Arizona and beyond,
Of the receiver called Larry Fitzgerald,
Arizona, they say, always loses its stars,
Until we found Larry Fitzgerald.

Hey Stout. I saw this thread a long time ago and your "Legend of Larry Fitzgerald" has stuck in my head. I promised myself that I would eventually put it to the Edmund Fitzgerald song. I can't wait !

Yeah, I thought it really was pretty good, but since we actually lost, it won't pop as well as it could have. Thanks, man.
