Treat UFA as one of a bunch of tools geared toward maintaining the same talent-level of the team plus improving its run-stopping, pass coverage production and smart-football skills.

This will take the combination of UFA signing acumen, drafting skills, cap managing smarts, player development and Lady Luck to get us where we want to go.

Net-Net - It will take more than UFA craftiness alone to get us over the top.

For someone who purports to understand those principles it’s surprising how much you seem to minimize or even ignore or just dismiss the fact that are consequences to balance in deciding whether, and how, to manipulate the cap for a single season.
