I am more optimistic -- if for one reason only:

For the first time in umpteen years -- the Cardinals will have a QB that isnt a rookie and knows what the heck he is doing.

Its hard to overestimate how significant that is.

That is reason for hope--now we just need a line to protect him, and to help establish a running game to open up the passing lanes.

They won 5 Super Bowls. There are lots of S.F. fans as a result.

Same reason why teams like the Raiders still get national games even though they are horrible. Huge fan base.
