It's not like we won't be going in to training camp with 2 kickers. He's available right now so they signed him. We'll likely grab another when FA starts and see who wins out.

Yes; however, he failed to make the Lions's roster, and only had one other tryout before the beginning of the season with the Packers. With kickers coming and going throughout the middle of the season (eg. Saints), he did not get any offers to kick for another team, let alone tryout, until now.

I'm not saying he isn't NFL ready, but rather, I think he only gets this much publicity because he was an internet sensation. If YouTube sensations would translate into successful professional athletes, that one QB who could throw through windows would be starting somewhere, or those guys who could make baskets from rooftops would be 3-point assassins in the NBA.

Of the teams testing him, I actually think this team made the correct move. He's never played high school, college og NFL football. I'm actually not sure he even played american football in Norway.

This would give him time to become familiar with the whole set-up of a football team and perhaps the best chance for a real evaluation.

Do you have anything to back this up? Such as his % of successful ones while in AZ and how many chances at them he's had?

According to this site, he's attemped 6 since he's been here and converted 0.

Contrast that with Rackers who attempted 15 and converted 7 while he was with us.

I know 6 attempts is hardly enough to make any statistical argument, but I've watched enough football to know what a good onside looks like, and I haven't seen that out of Feely since he came to AZ.

You only like him because of his nickname! :mulli:

haha. No, I don't like that nickname.

He's a FA signing guy who might replace a guy who sucks. He looks like he can kick the lights out, and if they sign him it's well worth the shot. Costs us absolutely squat to do so.

Feely is getting replaced, there is no doubt. Might as well beat the bushes and see if a tiger jumps out.

Yes, he's a trick kicker so far. We'll see if he has more game than that. Bottom line, if we didn't bring him in for a looksee, and he turned out to shine on some other team, I'd be pretty upset.

Kickers live pretty much in their own world. Let's give Kickalicious a chance.

Have the Cardinals actually signed Rugland? The article only states that they're planning to bring him in for a tryout.

In his video he also does a lot of punting, and he's left-footed. I wonder whether he's a legitimate candidate to punt in the NFL as well?
