Playing rookie QBs can be tough. There's no game tape to look at. The offense usually has a number of new wrinkles as well. I remember the Saints going to AZ a couple years ago and losing to Max freakin' Hall in his first start. It happens.

Especially when the other team's defense scores 2 TDs and forces 4 turnovers.

I still love that game as yet another example of the wacky stuff the Arizona Cardinals do. They scored 30 points and not one offensive skill player scored a TD.

Defense and Special Teams scored 12 times that season. And they still finished 5-11.

You gotta love Cardinal football.

I believe most of you are mistaken. Starting a new young QB will unite the Bucs and they will all play the best game of their season against our lowly Cards. Another road loss, 24-17.

I can't remember ever going into a game against a team with this much internal strife. We usually aren't that lucky to catch an opponent when they are imploding.

So if the Cards can't capitalize, even though it is an Eastern early game, then I will agree with Shane's thread that the season is over.

A good team would never lose to a team facing the issues that the Bucs are facing right now.

I just don't understand this thinking. I understand thinking we are a bad team and that the season is over but not that a loss to Tampa would prove it. Keep in mind that Tampa Bay lost their first two games by a grand total of 3 points before imploding against NE. Now, there's every chance they have removed their biggest obstacle to winning and I have to think the timing was perfect for them. I'd bet their HC was just waiting for an easy opponent so that Glennon could get his feet wet without getting killed. I suspect we'll oblige them.

To me, it is a matter of "if the Cards can't beat Tampa with a rookie QB in his first start, who will they beat?"

Glennon can 1) see over the center 2) has hands big enough to hold a regulation football, 3) has a head big enough for an NFL helmet.

:)

That is not fair!!! If you take away Glennons neck, he is 7 inches shorter than Max. :D

You should loan out your post to someone else. I'm not sure it has all that much validity given that you were on record predicting we'd win just two games this season. Of course, I was right there with you predicting we'd win between zero and two myself.

As for your point, they were getting very little from the QB position as it was so it's far from a slam dunk that the new guy will be a downgrade. Freeman only had 3 picks but he had even fewer TD's so I just don't see this move as all that big of a deal. I think Glennon is more likely to be an upgrade to their offense and there's a good chance it will also revitalize a pretty good defense. Your D needs to believe their effort isn't wasted and Freeman's 45% completion rate isn't exactly confidence building.

Colts, Rams, Eagles and Titans to finish 5-11 and drop 8 spots in the draft. :p

This. Add in, "If we start off 1-3 in this division, I don't see this team digging out of that hole."

Conversely, starting 2-2 with only one home game and one of your franchise's best players suspended could be a feather in the cap for this team moving forward. We need all the momentum we can get to survive this upcoming stretch of games.

Glennon throws for 300-plus, 3 TD's and the Bucs beat the Cards 27-13.

That feels like the script to me... :-(

Cards 21, Buccs 17. :) Cards take advantage of the disarray in Tampa and the d makes a late game stand. :)

The Bucs look to lean on their running game, and Doug Martin explodes for 123 yards and 2 TDs. Mike Glennon completes a long TD pass to a third string TE that doesn't even make their team next year. Carson Palmer is sacked and fumbles near the goal ine, which is returned for a TD.

28-17 Bucs.

Lets hope the rumors that the Bucs locker room would like to part with their HC are true , if true , it should serve us well today .

Glennon's first TD pass will be to Honey Badger.

(just saw on ESPN) Wow Josh Freeman isn't even active. So if Glennon has a bad day it's Orlovsky as the backup.

It's not funny, but this is exactly what will happen today. Freeman was a poison that NO ONE in that locker room liked. The players are thrilled that he's been benched & will play their arse off today for Glennon. Martin will run all over us too. We'll be competitive in the 1st half, but our D will tire just like last week. It's way too early, but I've got this feeling that BA wil turn out to be a very bad hire.

Tampa 24-10, maybe even more.

The Bucs team wanted to part with Freeman more so than with their HC. I have a feeling that we'll see a very energetic Tampa team that will pound us physically. BA may want us to be a physical football team, but right now, we're a soft team when you get down to it.

Your just running with your own assumptions on that one.

Both my awesome psychic powers and my ability to send good mojo over long distances seem to be broken. Pulled from thin air:

24 - 17 Cards.

Don't know- We may pass ourselves to death with inappropriate confidence. We may use it to propel us into the NFCW division battle-

The 2013 still have the WTF factor to me- but we are better than last year with upside-

Feed the 5 RB's!
