Cardinals' Carson Palmer named Sporting News' Comeback Player of the Year

http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl-new...r-of-the-year-knee-stats-record-mvp-candidate

The nexus of Carson Palmer's story resides in his left knee — a knee that has known many lives. A knee torn asunder in 2006 as Palmer completed a playoff pass against the Steelers. A knee brought back to life with ligaments from a dead man.

A knee that, once again, buckled beneath Palmer on Nov. 9, 2014. The ACL torn — again. Replaced by a patellar tendon.

A new knee that resurfaced old doubts. Could Palmer, this time 36, come back? Could he be the same? And the answer was no.

Because, as it turned out, he could be better.

It's because of that incredible story — a story that starts with a knee and continues with awe-inspiring stats and perhaps ends with a playoff run — that Palmer's peers and coaches around the league voted him the Comeback Player of the Year in a poll conducted by Sporting News.

That's awesome for Palmer. I'd seen during a press conference a while back where he said that CPOY award would be very special to him. Congrats, Carson. Now go get yourself a ring.

He got his tendon from a women not a man and it was her Achilles tendon. If a guy is going to write an article, get his facts straight before doing so.

Congrats to Palmer. Amazing comeback it has been. Never thought he would out do all of his seasons before this year after tearing his acl last year. Glad he is on our team.

How many people would have called it quits after one bad injury... let alone two?

Especially considering that after Palmer blew out his knee last year someone interviewed the mother of the girl who's tendon was used and how heartbroken she was knowing that no part of her daughter is alive.

Yea, it made national news and yet the guy didn't do simple research. Oh well, it happens I guess, but this stuff just erks me sometimes.

I was going to say the same thing, it does surprise me Palmer won with what Berry went through.

yeah, I love me some Palmer and he was amazing this year, but battling back from freaking CANCER and making the Pro-Bowl is life-affirming stuff.

I can't imagine. My mother had a hard enough time returning to a normal life let alone compete at an NFL Pro-Bowl level.
