Stewart Bradley Released

Twitter. Saves $3.5 mil on cap

Most logical cut the team could've made.

YIPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The enigma is gone because that is what he is. Is he good or not good, we do not know but for whatever reason Bradley has not done much here and the coaches hired viewed him as not worth keeping for the money he made...so, this is good news :)

Toler was really coming around towards the end of the season and getting back to the promising corner he was earlier. A healthy Toler is worth keeping and I hope the release of Gay means they find a way to keep him.

Beanie wont get cut, final year on rookie contract. This is the most production we will get out of him.

Agreed, yes he has been injured but he has still stayed on the field longer than R.Williams and has some proven games on the NFL level.

Stew's most memorable play of his Cardinals career.

Stew and Gay saves 7 mill towards the cap. We were 1.2 over it yesterday.

We are currently 5.8 mill under the cap.

Were we 1.2M over the current cap or was that going off of last years salary cap. I only ask because the cap was raised by like 2M this year.

It was as of yesterday when the final cap total came out.

I pulled this up from a post I made in another thread.

Player Pos. Base Salary Signing Bonus Other Bonus Dead Money Cap Figure
Kevin Kolb QB 9,000,000 2,000,000 2,500,000 -6,000,000 13,500,000
Darnell Dockett DT 4,450,000 3,250,000 -9,000,000 7,700,000
Daryn Colledge G 3,800,000 1,500,000 1,975,000 -6,825,000 7,275,000
Stewart Bradley LB 5,000,000 1,000,000 500,000 -3,000,000 6,500,000
Levi Brown T 4,750,000 1,400,000 250,000 -5,600,000 6,400,000
Kerry Rhodes S 4,500,000 1,500,000 6,000,000
Adrian Wilson S 2,500,000 1,175,000 1,250,000 -1,925,000 4,925,000
William Gay CB 3,225,000 250,000 125,000 -250,000 3,600,000
Early Doucet WR 1,950,000 250,000 50,000 -250,000 2,250,000
Beanie Wells RB 1,407,500 962,500 50,000 -962,500 2,420,000
Jeff King TE 1,500,000 333,334 50,000 -333,334 1,883,334
Jay Feely K 1,500,000 250,000 -250,000 1,750,000
Andre Roberts WR 1,323,000 181,050 -181,050 1,504,000
Dave Zastudil P 1,475,000 1,475,000
O'Brien Schofield LB 1,323,000 107,125 -107,125 1,430,125
Mike Leach LS 1,000,000 66,667 24,000 -133,334 1,090,667
Reggie Walker LB 950,000 167,500 50,000 -167,500 1,167,500

With Bradley and Gay gone if they are clearing cap space who is the most logical to go next? Kolb even with the dead money still worth 7.5M in cap space. Doucet is worth 2M and Wells is worth 1.4M Walker is worth a 1M in space. Feely is worth 1.5M and King is 1.5M

Cutting Bradley and Gay fetched 5.5M in space.

The biggest savings will come from Kolb. $13.5mil cap hit as it currently stands, and $6mil if released.

It's anyone's guess as to what the two sides agree upon, if anything.

Unless they can get him to sign a completely new contract for significantly less than they need to cut him. Also doesn't he cost zero on the 2014 cap if we cut him now?

Correct. The rest of his guaranteed money gets accelerated into this cap season if cut. Most of his guaranteed money from his current deal has already been paid.

Truth be told, if there's a restructure, I doubt it'll have anything less than a $6 mil cap hit.

Byebye Bradley, your brass monkey dance isn't worth millions because you rarely make a dance worthy play.

I think Beanie is safe as hell, and will get more touches than he ever has. We can see if he really was gimp mode or just unwhispired to play for a man he didn't exactly admire.

Kolb is safe unless Arians wants some of that Geno's pie, that pie's stock is going up but the 7th pick is way up so I don't know. I'd be happiest with both on the roster.

The first "interesting" cut. I am going to guess we will not be playing as much zone protection as we did last year since zone coverage is what Gay does best.

Not to mention we need to make some cap wiggle room.
