Guys forgive me, I gotta break character for a minute.
I LOVE THIS FREAKIN TEAM!!!!!!
Did anyone here on the post game show when Grace said Peralta should have gotten a curtain call for his tying homer and said later "but I never got a curtain call" and Brenly said "last call". Walsh was laughing so hard he had to put his head down. Brenly is the best.
http://m.mlb.com/news/article/20170...ht-godley-square-off-at-chase/?game_pk=491277Wainwright has made 10 career starts against Arizona and is 7-4 with a 2.71 ERA. That career ERA vs. the D-backs is the sixth-lowest mark among active pitchers with a minimum of six starts against Arizona.
• Godley has not allowed more than three runs in any of his nine starts this season, and he has allowed two or fewer runs in each of his four starts at Chase Field.
• Opponents have missed on 46.3 percent of their swings against Godley's curveball and posted a .125 batting average against it. Both numbers put him in the top 10 among starters this season.

Great post 82Still thinking about the win last night... and one aspect of the win that stands out for me is how they battled against a stud of a pitcher in Martinez, who came into the game with a sub 2.80 ERA and a WHIP a tick over 1.00. Over the 6 innings he pitched, he only allowed 4 hits and struck-out 10! The only runs he allowed were on the incredibly clutch double by Iannetta that tied up the game in the bottom of the 6th. But man... the Dbacks fought in every at-bat. Battling on every pitch. They worked out 3 walks from Martinez and ultimately, caused him to toss 106 pitches over those 6 innings. Given that he only have up 4 hits & 3 walks, that's an amazing accomplishment!
And they continued to battle when the extremely tough Rosenthal entered the game...scratching out 2 hits, 2 walks, a hit-by-pitch (Ahmed) and ultimately 2 runs that cut the deficit to a run, setting the stage for Peralta's incredible opposite field game-tying blast in the bottom of the 9th...
It's one thing to do this off of some of the schmucks they've seen from Colorado and other lesser quality pitchers... But Martinez is at the height of his dominance and Rosenthal is one of the toughest, hardest throwing right-hand relievers in baseball.
Incredibly, both Goldy and Drury went 0 for 4 with no runs scored... In years past, it was nearly impossible for this team to win without some degree of contribution at the plate from Goldy. That is SO not the case now!
