He is still under contract as DC with the Cardinals.
Yes, but what's significant is that the CARDS could have given him permission to postulate for other openings, and they didn't.

I was actually thinking about this the other day. Vance was supposed to be there for KK to help him acclimate to being a HC. He failed!
Vance never spoke out, Vance never pulled KK aside, Vance never went to bat for KK and Vance and KK did not seem to we've work together. Vance, IMHO, failed. He could advise, not dictate.
Let's not make KK's failure VJ's responsibility.
I can't see how joining the CARDS without Kyler would advance his career goals.
With the Vikings scrambling to hire a defensive coordinator, if he had waited for a final answer from the Cardinals, he may have been out of luck. As it stands, Flores takes another step toward becoming a head coach again, despite his pending lawsuit against the league and multiple teams.
Since Vance only has 1 member of his staff left (Billy Davis, go figure) I think the writing is on the wall.

Brian Flores opted for bird in the hand in Minnesota
One of the strangest stories of the week came from Minnesota, by way of Arizona.profootballtalk.nbcsports.com
Part of the speculation is that he needs to get out of Reid's shadow if he wants a HC position. Showing he can do some stuff without Kyler for a time, and with him would certainly help his case.
Where does any of that come from?
Was VJ, a subordinate to KK, supposed to make public comments about his direct boss?
And how would anyone know if VJ pulled KK aside for a chat?
Well he's had Mahomes as an OC since 2018, where are all these jobs coming from? Usually they get poached with the "success" he's had, especially the best offense and the best QB since that time, and even working with likes of Hunt and Charles as RB coach before that.Sure, but he probably can find a gig without concerning himself with when his #1 QB will be available.
This is probably the most damaging part of all of this. Even if Vance is kept, they still have to bring in an entirely new staff.Since Vance only has 1 member of his staff left (Billy Davis, go figure) I think the writing is on the wall.

That would be frustrating. It's blaming the dog for bad behavior, when the owner has no clue how to train the dog. This is probably the most damaging part of all of this. Even if Vance is kept, they still have to bring in an entirely new staff.
Like I said the Cardinals cast their net so far and wide that by the time they pulled it back in and it was empty all of the big fish had swam off to somewhere else. Flores went for the sure thing.Brian Flores opted for bird in the hand in Minnesota

Interesting insight on not rushing hires.

Might sound off if VJ sees himself as a DC or even a head coach which he probably rightfully so expects at this point, but could it be he is being held to hold a different position to fill out the defensive staff like secondary or LB coachSince Vance only has 1 member of his staff left (Billy Davis, go figure) I think the writing is on the wall.

VJ was like the maverick of wingmen. He did KK no favors. At the very least get the defense to be playing decent and he couldn't even do that.Vance never spoke out, Vance never pulled KK aside, Vance never went to bat for KK and Vance and KK did not seem to we've work together. Vance, IMHO, failed.
Why is my opinion bothering you?
This is who I see it. Vance was hired to help KK, that as public knowledge. He failed IMHO.
Also, we never saw it once. Not even in Hard Knocks. How many HK scenes did they even have together?

I mean at this point, just let Vance go. Only creates more problems keeping him now.
A lot of “never” considering you and nobody would know what did or didn’t happen in the buildingVance never spoke out, Vance never pulled KK aside, Vance never went to bat for KK and Vance and KK did not seem to we've work together. Vance, IMHO, failed.
So then it should he easy to find a single quote from Vance supporting KK or video on the sidelines of him pulling him aside.A lot of “never” considering you and nobody would know what did or didn’t happen in the building
GMFB is not the same <sigh> That Jamie gal who replaced her is sooooooo annoying, sounds like she inhales helium before she talks. Blech!I have to give Payton credit for not staring at Kay too long. I would have failed.
