With Gaines and Williams out we in theory have two more draft picks in 2024 to add to the haul we expect next draft

Keim used to do this all the time.

Keim: "I want to look smart. So I am going to tell my LS that we will sign him in two days back to accomodate roster moves. Going to call 98.7 to market the heck out of my brilliant move"

Gumbo: "Source told me LS will be back after roster moves. What time is it, Burnsy?"

Burnsy: "KeimTime baby! We all agree Keim is a super smart guy.............."

Hopefully Petzing has a lot of two TEs lineup play in his playbook, otherwise, the 4th, probably even the 3rd TE (especially given the quality of our TEs) is just a waste of roster spot.

Didn’t we do the same thing with Brewer last year figuring he won’t be claimed saving a spot for a decision tomorrow?
Good chance he will be back.
He was a FA last off season and we waited to sign him back until after he was cleared with his broken leg. We took on $250k in dead money relaesing him. He's gone.

Yes they did
No, he was a FA last off season. We signed him late after his leg was healthy. We signed him to a two year deal then. We took dead money on by releasing him. He's not coming back.

I'd be shocked if we churn 8-10 guys. My line would probably be 3.5.

Same. With Gaines out I think at least 3 and maybe 4 at a push.

The Gaines loss is tougher than it looks on paper. With the scheme they play they really want an athletic center, it's probably the main reason they drafted Gaines. Pray Fro stays healthy.

Changes we'll see today:
*Add a center and possibly a tackle.
*Possibly replace Demercado with a WW guy.
*Add a third QB.
*Net effect of one less DL (Stille). Might have to cut another if we add a NT from the WW.
*Down one at OLB (Victor D).
*Release two CB's (Matthew and Boyd) and add two from the WW.
*Add a safety.
*Bring Brewer back.

That's about twelve 'moves'. Does anyone know what the League average is for initial roster changes?

How come Garrett Williams is on the NFI list? Maybe I missed something, but I thought he was hurt while playing at Syracuse?
