What does it hurt to have Gabbert on a 1 yr minimum deal? If he isn't coachable or his flaws aren't fixable he is gone with no real impact. It's a chance of striking gold (however unlikely) that he can end up being a salvageable starter...to me I think the best we hope for is he is a better #2 than Stanton and I don't think that is far fetched at all.

Blaine Gabbert sucks. Awful signing.

I wouldn't say it's an "awful" signing. Best case scenario is he suppliants Stanton as QB2. Worst case he's cut. If he were brought in to start, then yes, this would be terrible.

Weird to call a one year deal for near the minimum with no risk an "awful signing"

If he sucks, we will cut him before the season so...who cares? Why is that awful? Strange.

I just see no upside with this guy. Hope I'm wrong.

Slow down there Charlie Brown, we've seen this happen over & over in games like this

Maybe he's turned the corner, but he did do all that against 2nd & 3rd stringers. He's got a longggggg way to go to prove us doubters wrong :p

What does that matter? Really? Were his passes accurate? Did he make the right reads? Did he show composure while under pressure? Were his incompleted passes poorly thrown or were they drops? Did he seem to have a command of the offense?

This is a time for evaluation and dismissing quality play because it is preseason is not evaluation.

I was saying that Gabbert was playing with 2nd and 3rd stringers on his side and still looked good with them. It didn't matter if he was playing with first stringers or 8th stringers as he had great presence in the pocket and accurate throws.

So chill out.
