Who all is pumped for Denny Greene 2.0?!?!

So now any coach who has a history of success and is let go by his team is Denny Green?

Why in any way, that's not just speculation and conjecture, are Andy Reid and Denny Green similar? Just the fact that they had a long, successful tenure with a previous team?

Reid is a better coach than Jeff Fisher who people gush about. Higher winning % more playoff wins.

He only had 3 losing seasons in 14 years...9 winning years, 2 .500 years.

Am I the only one not excited? The guy lost several big games and lost the big one too. It wouldn't be bad but I would rather take my chances with Horton.

You and me both. Ive been screaming it from the rooftops. NO ANDY REID!

AND he would still not have that QB here. If Philly can't get that QB what makes you think he could get said QB here? Bottom line is I think he had an organization better at drafting and trying to get that QB versus here. He still didn't get it done.
He drafted McNabb in his first season with the Eagles. So it's not like he inherited a QB that was already on that roster.

So bring in a guy whos got almost as crappy an OL as the guy who left?
At least they could run block quite well. Vick also didn't make them look much better with how long he would hold onto the ball.

How many big games did we even get to play?

Exactly this guy has at least been deep in the playoffs on multiple occasions. If we do indeed get him signed I would predict we draft a QB in the first or second round or trade for one and be a solid team either next year or the year after.

IF he comes here, we may successfully run a screen

Good point.

For those who prefer to run the ball. well get ready to go insane because Reid prefers to pass more than Whiz.

..as opposed to the Cardinals, who have played only a handful of meaningful games in the 35+ years that I have been a fan.

He got them there. That's more than we have now, save for 2 years under Whiz.

Yes. We're already worried about losing deep in the playoffs.....I'm worried we might not even make the playoffs in the next 2 seasons.

Could you at least base your post on facts.

Rushing stats last 2 years Cardinals: 2011 389 Attempts (28th) 1625 Yards (24th), 2012 352 Attempts (32nd) 1204 Yards (32nd)

Rushing stats last 2 years Eagles: 2011 450 Attempts (12th) 2276 Yards (5th), 2012 413 Attempts (19th) 1874 Yards (13th)

Please stop letting the facts get in the way of a perfectly good argument.

Stats can be very interesting and at times need more than a quick review to determine the entire story.

The Cards had more rush attempts per game then the Eagles this past year. I'm not going to look into it more then that but feel free to do so.

The Eagles have Shady McCoy who is an elite back in this league and a scrambling Vick who pads their rushing yards stats.

I live in the Philly market so hear and see a lot more about the Eagles than most Cards fans. Reid has constantly been blasted by the media and fans here that he doesn't run the ball enough.

Now take into account that the West Coast Offense was developed with the thought that a short passing game does supplant the running game to a degree.

I have looked at all of that and only including the stats from RBs the Eagles still ran the ball more times than the Cards and at a better average.

If he could bring Castillo as O-Line coach NOT D coordinator that would be great :)

Him and Norv on offense and Horton still here for the defense would be pretty good IMO.

Here is the rushing stats for running backs the last 2 year.

Eagles: 2012 334 attempts/ 1495 yards, 2011 342 attempts/ 1553 yards

Cards: 2012 316 attempts/ 971 yards, 2011 339 attempts/ 1396 yards

The numbers for RBs were dramatically different this year, but pretty close last year. The one thing I have noticed when I watch the Eagles is that they do a pretty good job of opening lanes for RBs to run through (at least compared to the Cards). Yes you can make the argument about Shady being elite, but I would tell you that Bryce Brown (who I think is similar to Wipo) looked like an elite rusher behind that line as well.

:doi: Thanks for the correction.

Of course they had more yards because they have Shady McCoy. The point I was making is that we have several posters who would prefer we run the ball more and that's not what Reid likes to do. I'm not saying Reid would be a bad hire simply noting that he likes to pass the ball far more than run it.

There was at least 2 years where Reid had the lowest run vs pass ratio in the entire league. Not saying it's a bad thing but once again just saying some fans will get irritated with how much Reid passes the ball.
