If DA was on a short leash it would have been yanked already. His leash is super super long apparently.
We get smoked these next two games and watch it disappear.

How is that possible? I'm sorry, but unless Hall is going to line up facing the opposite direction every play there's no way his downside is "much worse". Chances are, he's not the answer but there just isn't enough room between DA's level of performance and rock bottom to justify your appraisal, IMO.

there are nine qbs in the NFL who actually have a worse passer rating than Anderson, or, if you want to describe QB situations, make it 8 as two of the nine are on Carolina.
how does it get worse? A qb starts throwing interceptions -- which is what rookie qbs generally do.
The whole premise on winning this year was going to be about running the football, playing good defense and special teams, and scoring enough to grind out wins. All that breaks down if you have a Qb turning the ball over a bunch.
You can focus on being lucky not to be 0-3, and there is some truth to that. However, while QB play was certainly an issue in the two wins, so was laying the ball on the ground. Anderson's play was secondary to Hightower's fumbles against the Rams and the punt fumbles against the Raiders. Take care of the football, and each of those two wins are decidedly easier.
Finally -- while Max looked great in the preseason, take a look at how our other pre-season all star -- Stephen Williams -- has looked thus far in the regular season -- a little lost. Williams will be a nice player-- maybe by the last 5 games of the season, just like Max Hall is going to be a nice player -- next year at the earliest, but likely 2012.
I think the entire planet's population can agree that it's good that Ken Whisenhunt is coaching the Cardinals, rather than you or Bickley.
DA isn't going to play at that either. He's currently rolling out a 67.6 rating. The problem is, he's definitely leaving a 90+ rating out on the field. The stats are there to be had, and he's missing them and missing badly.
I honestly think the fans who are defending the continued play of Anderson have yet to watch a game this season of the Cardinals. Because he is without a doubt the most painfully obvious excuse for a QB with not intelligence or feel for the game I have seen, maybe ever. He's like Jake Delhomme with worse touch.
Yes its that bad.
Anderson is absolutely the biggest clown to EVER play QB for this team and thats saying something. When your best quality is how you take a hit, you should probably get into a new vocation.
A friend of mine compared him to a boxer who's known for taking a big punch. He can't box a lick, but he's got one hell of a jaw.

I also disagree with the "local" aspect. I think we want Hall in there because DA is horrible and Hall might not be. It's as simple as that. There just isn't that much citywide/countywide/statewide interest in any one high school to warrant such a strong push based primarily on local connections. This is not Jake Plummer revisited.
Our coach and several others have touted the kid so we're sitting here hoping that he is the one in a hundred (one in a thousand, one in a million, whatever) that can actually make the transition from overlooked college player to rookie success story. The odds are quite long but so are many of DA's passes.
Steve
The coach is already looking like an idiot for picking Anderson and now sticking with him.We are 2-1. What if the coach changes QB's and we lose? He would look like an idiot. Until our QB loses it makes no difference how bad he plays as long as we win.
How do you know? In fact, from preseason, it quite the opposite. Max Hall showed some poise and good decision making granted it was against the 3rd stringers. We will not know unless he is given an opportunity. Chances are he cannot be worse than Anderson.DA makes (mostly) good decisions but bad throws.
Max Hall makes good throws but but would likely make bad decisions.
Pick your poison.
I think DA has shown some improvement. I say let's what Anderson can do in the next two weeks.
Yes, it is painful and ugly to watch Anderson as QB. How did he even make the pro-bowl???This is the bigger point everyone is missing. We have a proven system and an offensive mastermind as a coach. If you watch the tape and replays, we have WR's running free downfield on nearly EVERY play. And yet this clown Anderson overthrows, underthrows, throws into helmets, and throws behind WR's on 3 out of 5 plays. Its embarassing.
I know all the realists on the board want to point how Max Hall is "undrafted" and the odds are stacked against him to even be mediocre. And maybe your right.
But Jesus at least he will complete a 5 yard screen pass or 7 yard slant every once in awhile and run around for some first downs.

Cutler has his faults, and I personally do not like him, but comparing him to Derek Anderson is an insult.

May be then he should only be put in the 4th quarter...I find this stat interesting:
Anderson has the NFL's fourth-best fourth-quarter passer rating at 110.2, and his completion percentage jumps to 62.5 over the final 15 minutes.
