This is a HUGE moment in the Arizona Cardinals franchise history right now... What we do in this offseason will shape what kind of team we are.. I still believe in Whiz.. I think he needs to read this plan, follow it and together with the Bidwells enjoy a successful season in 2011..
I have been hearing positive things from the NFL and P.A., I think ultimately they will get a CB done by mid-march, and with that, a draft salary cap will be in place and the franchise tag will be elminated..
A.) Sign Keith Butler to DC. (There is no official DC in waiting in Pitt, and I think we will roll out the red carpet for Butler to join the desert)
B.) F.A. with the addition of butler and the the elmination of the tag, the cardinals will be free to pursue Woodley... It will ultimately come down to AZ or Pitt, and I think the cards pay him good money and he follows his coach to the desert. He is our one impact f.a. signing.
C.) Draft.. Trade 2011 2nd round pick for Kevin Kolb, sign him to a 5 year 48 million deal with 28 guarenteed.
D.) Trade #5 pick to the Houston Texans at #11 and also #42 who are switching to the 3-4 with Wade Philips and Von Miller is the center piece to do it.
E.) Draft Nate Solder at #11, moving Brown back to the right side Solder is a guy who could start from day 1, and cover Kolb's back for years to come.
F.) Draft Rodney Hudson #42. He can play guard or center, and is an absolute STUD.. A little undersized but you could never tell by the way he plays.. Helps solidfy a shaky OLine for years to come.
G.) Resign Breaston for a reasonable amount..
Key additions: LaMar Woodley, Kevin kolb, Nate Solder, Rodney Hudson
We would be adding significant talent at need areas and be ready to roll in 2011... I think every step of this is logical and realistic, the question is do the Cardinals?
Thoughts?
