Thompson sucks but they could have just put Rashard Lawrence on IR for 4 games after getting hand surgery instead of cutting the only backup safety on the roster

Thompson should have been cut a year ago. He is mediocre at special teams and outright bad at safety.

I hope Luketa can take some defensive snaps away from our current terrible triad at ILB (Vigil/Vallejo/Niemann). This defense is so unathletic it hurts.

They already have. Thompson has played 6 snaps in 3 games. I don't see what this changes.

It may not have an impact, but it's killing your margin for error. If something happens, like Budda or Jalen getting knicked up during the game, you are again putting players in positions to fail.

It's only for this game. Washington should be back next week.

Plus is Thompson gets dinged Simmons is better than D.Thompson. If Budda gets dinged Jalen can play S and Simmons can play SS.

Talking about snaps we still have Whitaker getting almost every snaps since week 1, and it's so weird cause he is in the practice squad...
He knows assignments but doesn't matter if he can't cover anyone and misses many tackles
