Cardinals Sign CB Eric Joyce
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wednesday, February 11, 2004

Tempe, Arizona -— Cornerback Eric Joyce, a three-year starter at
Tennessee State who spent the 2002 training camp with the
Cardinals and time on the active roster and practice squad with
the Chicago Bears the past two seasons, has signed a one-year
contract with the Cardinals.

Joyce originally signed with Arizona as a college free agent
prior to training camp in 2002. He was waived prior to the start
of the regular season. He joined Chicago’s practice squad on
November 12. He was released December 3, re-signed to the Bears’
practice squad December 10, and elevated to the Bears’ 53-man
roster December 13 for the duration of the season. In three 2002
games, Joyce saw action as a reserve defensive back and on
special teams. Last year, Joyce spent training camp with the
Bears but was released August 27.

During his career at Tennessee State, the 5–10, 200-pounder
started 35 of 38 games for the Tigers, recording 108 tackles, 4
interceptions, and 30 pass deflections.

If we got Yo Yo Ma in the rd. 6 besides yo mamma, we conceivably could have the best theme song in the NFL.

As you all who have been reading my posts know.......I've been predicting this signing for months and months and months.

Remember skkorp said....."some things will be announced that not everyone will agree with".

This is really going to screw up our draft strategy.

I think this move says "Goodbye Coby." Eric won't be a starter.

I think Goss has alot more upside than Joyce but both will likely not be in the organization once the regular season starts...unless the Cards go with a youthful secondary, which seemed to be alot of the problems in MIN under Green (my perception).

Which leads us back to the Solomon issue and is he a good coach??

The antenna ball in the 7th is a real steal! I had it as a low third, top of the 4th range,:D

The problem in Minnesota the team was so good - drafted players so well - and developed players so well... that they could not keep all their good players. The cap system hurt the Vikes big time. If there was no cap/FA system in place those would have been SB teams under the old system.

And so at the end the CBs were weaker then they would have been normally. Our best CB was suspended. Our FS was slowed by injuries and our SS broke his leg. Nothing to do with youth or coaching. Like I said elsewhere you cannot make chicken salad out of chicken s@#%.
