It may make for a local angle on the Ray Rice story and local news is frequenting looking for local angles on national stories. The accusations against this guy are that he sent a threatening text and a slap. I am not sure what a slap means. It could be anything from exaggerated play to close to a punch. In the absence of definitive information, I am holding my judgment.

My bigger concern is that this guy is a washout with several teams. Its only the practice squad, but I am not sure the point. Surely there must be better option.s

They had a reporter comment on ESPN this morning that he thinks the Cards are signing Rainey for a few weeks with the expectation he'll eventually be suspended by the NFL but if they get a couple of weeks out of him until Ellington heals that's all they want.

Which takes me back to the win at all costs comment, I get it's a business but do you really use that to justify signing someone you're actually expecting to be suspended?

I don't care if we continue to get Steeler castoffs if they add value. I could careless. However, this guy shouldn't be in a Cards uniform. Bad form by the Cards. That goes for any other player charged with domestic violence.
