You also have to consider your only in your mid 30s and will never in your life come close to making this kind of money again oh and it's not guaranteed. Think about if your company now who you've worked for for 10 years comes to you and says hey man were having some rough times we've been good you can we cut your pay in half. How many of us would really stay. I'm just saying I understand if they do leave
"understand"? Absolutely. But "expect"? Not from DD. He's always made his feelings crystal clear. He's a player that wears his heart on his sleeve and then magnifies it. He's the type to sit out camp if he's unhappy, and the type to play for less if he is. After what he said about Dansby, I fully expect DD to be willing to take a pay cut to play for a ring. Fitz on the other hand, is quite the opposite from DD. He doesn't complain, he doesn't brag, he goes out and does his job to the fullest, whether he's happy, mad, sad, whatever. He is the ultimate professional. But that could translate poorly in our attempt to keep him for less $. Only time will tell, but I would be surprised if DD wouldn't stick around for less if it meant a ring. Fitz is harder to read. While I would love to see them both stick around for less, I also understand why they wouldn't and am not going to hold my breath
Comparing their job to ours is apples to oranges though. We work 30 years longer than they do. And they still make more in 1 year than we would in 10. With the $ they've currently made, they can retire comfortably already, and still have the option of working for a franchise or for a network, still making more than we do, potentially close to what they make playing if they're popular enough. We don't have all those options
