Bush is a between the tackles guy; I love his style but not sure he's got any gas left.

If he gets 7 of Elli's carries a game, that's a good thing in the long run.

Is it really gonna change all that much with poor play & no push in the middle in the run game? BA needs to pull off his stubborn Wiz hat & insert Coop in the lineup at LG ASAP.

Over the past 3-4 weeks, there have been several - as in MANY - run plays where a more powerful, heavier, pounding RB would've gained an additional 3, 4 or more yards than what Ellington produced.
I don't know if Bush will be the RB to actually do that, however, he fits the profile of what is needed.

Interesting I had no idea he wasn't on a roster. He was really good his last year in Oakland but not so with the Bears.

Should be well rested, less than 200 carries in his last 2 1/2 years,.

Then why not use Hughes or Taylor more? You know, the other RBs who are barely averaging 3 yds & a cloud of dust. ;)I'm not buying it, but we'll see.

Been wondering the same thing, especially about Hughes.

Guess we shall see how he offsets AE. Wonder if or how many touches he will get this weekend? He will be active for this game right?

Sounds like a fumble waiting to happen, gotta get in game shape before we put him in a game, the game is a mental as it is physical, especially with the ball handling duties. If we can't run against Atlanta, who gives up 125+ yards a game on the ground, than we are in some serious trouble.

But it is all related, the O-line is concentrating on keeping Stanton alive, the run game has taken a back seat and that's why we get hit in the backfield so often. Also the chickens got to keep the box stacked because Stanton couldn't throw his way out of trouble, and the hawks just filled in the gaps and won the outside edge battle as well. Cooper won't replace anybody this year, but I bet he sees about 20 snaps this week. Folks said we had gotten TEs that could block this year, I beg to differ.

Have no idea... For whatever reason(s), BA doesn't seem to have much confidence in those guys carrying the rock. Bush, if healthy and in shape, is a 100x better RB than either Hughes or Taylor. His bigger, faster & quicker, and is a proven 4ypc back.

But as you say, we'll see how it shakes out...

I'm glad we got a RB. But if he were any good at all with even one highlight someone would have YouTube'D it for us and therefore it reeks of desperation.

What this tells me is the Ellington every down back experiment has failed and all you chumps last year saying he needed a heavy workload were wrong. Eat it.

Ellington is playing on a foot that needs surgery after the season, and has since Week 1. Initially, he was gonna miss 4-6 weeks. Hard to pass/fail the experiment given the circumstance. He needs rest. Bush will provide that.

Beanie was hurt too, and people beat his ass on here daily. Ellington hasn't produced this year. Period.

And as I said elsewhere, if he's so hurt he's going to fall down on his own all the time, sit him and get someone else in there.

NOW NOW DARKSIDE- He's a eLL of a back in his role! We passed on both Hill and Hyde later than premium RB's have ever went. To the Rams and the Niners! We got JB but could have got him on the next pick.

But I like being 9-2 and leading the NFL! But we need a feature RB in this RUN HAPPY DIVISION!

Bush won't work, just like Taylor or Grice have not worked unless they are allowed to play a significant amount of time and get a feel for the game... especially, if they are a physical running back :)

Yep we passed on those dudes but got John Brown and Buchanon. I'm cool with that. They couldn't have known that Dwyer would be a wife beater. That's what crippled our running game. Ellington can't take the pounding. Those carries were meant for Dwyer.

Bush is easily a better player than Taylor and Grice, but that's not saying much. Hopefully, he's in shape.
