they'll be lucky to make it through training camp. AAF is a joke compared to the NFL. Those guys couldn't even make 3rd string OR the practice squads for any teams. Playing well in a garbage league means nothing. Wishing them the best, but like European football players when they were stars there came over to the NFL and got BLOWN UP.

Let’s start with Jeremiah Poutasi. I remember him well. The Titans drafted him and put him at right tackle. While he improved throughout the season, they put him at the wrong position and he never got good enough. He should be inside at guard. He has only modest footwork. He probably has enough agility to slide in pass protection. He won’t be able to hit any second level blocks but he’ll move the guy in front of him. He could help the goal line offense and I think if DJ gets back his ability to jump cut this guy might be an asset on running plays. He’s likely not a starter but used right he could be an asset.

Andrew Lauderdale is the weakest of the group. An UDFA from New Hampshire, he wasn’t on my target list. I noted he was faster than most tackles with decent agility. I think he’s practice personnel. Teams are signing these guys like mad. They seem to be forgetting the level of the competition. Mostly it’s just a waste of time. I thought the best players were the corner backs. I like the Gunter re-signing.

The Arizona Cardinals presently have 18 offensive lineman under contract.

They will probably only carry 10 on the regular season roster so even now that creates a lot of competition.

Yesterday the Cards signed 2 offensive lineman from the AAF. Andrew Lauderdale had a 63.0 overall grade playing at both tackle spots for the Hotshots. Jeremiah Poutasi had a 64.9 overall grade starting at LT for St Louis and excelled in pass blocking with a 77.8 pass block grade. pic.twitter.com/jXuFE4rmsQ

I know it's a small sample size but I guess you forgot a guy named Kurt Warner. Played in both the Arena league and NFL Europe and he had a decent career. And do I need to list the hall of famers who played in the USFL?

Warner is a good comparison...but not the USFL players. Remember, that league was competing with the NFL for top tier talent...and paid a ton of $$ to get those players. USFL was never intended as a 2nd chance/development league.

Just making a point because some would consider the USFL a "garbage" league, even back then. And some players were looking for a 2nd chance. Greg Landry, John Reeves, Johnny Walton, Archie Griffin, and even our own Mel Gray were looking for one last hurrah.

It'll be an uphill battle to make the 53 but if they do, good for them. People shouldnt $hit on somebody's dream.

I'm not sure how many players the cardinals currently have on their roster, that being said, they can only have 90 to start training camp. There will have to be roster moves/cuts before late July in order to make this happen? Still have at least 10 players to be drafted also. Does it make any sense to keep signing players if cuts need to be made? I'm thinking I read somewhere the other day (Darren Urban) article maybe? That after the draft they will be well over 90 players & cuts will have to be made.

As long as these AAF guys have very little guaranteed money I don't think it is a big deal. It's sort of an extended try out, if they show well its one or 2 less UDFA signed.
