Cardinals talking to Philip Buchanan

Free agent CB Phillip Buchanon is talking to the Redskins, Jets and Cardinals.

Both the Jets and Cardinals have added corners already this morning, so Buchanon may be headed back to Washington. He started five games a year ago, recording two interceptions.

Interesting.
I've never been able to get my mind around what kind of player he is. I know he had toast problems early but seems to have found a quiet rythum in his later years. He'd be a great camp body at worst, pushing the others for a spot.

I'd be down with P-Buck for depth purposes. That, along with Marshall and hopefully Peterson being what we expect him to be and Toler getting just incrementally better, along with hopefully Horton knowing how to run a defense better than anyone else we've had in a decade should make that unit at worst pretty solid i'd think.

Agreed. Buchanon is a perfect nickely/dime guy who can drop into zones and make QBs pay for playing loose with the football. Buchanon sucks as a match up guy, but he's always been good at forcing turnovers.

Agreed. But can tackle to save his life.

He is also a return guy in a pinch.

Don't think he will be joining the team tho. I believe we have all the CB's we are going to get.

If we get Philip Buchanon we are supremely better at corner than weve been in a very long long time. Peterson, Marshall, Toler, Buchanon, Adams...compared to last year of DRC, Toler, Adams, McBride, etc.

Assuming Peterson performs well as a rookie we are much better. If Peterson struggles to pick things up quickly then we may have lots of issues.
