I only get to do this when I actually watch a game and since I work Sundays now, these are going to be few and far between. Anyhoo, here we go.

The Good

A Win-
Take it anyway we can get it. Good, bad, or ugly. I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day. Good to get off the schneid.

David Johnson-What can be said of this kid. If we had a runner like him in 2008, we'd be reminiscing about the Super Bowl win of that season. The kid is just plain good. Yes the 9ers have the worst rushing defense in the league but it didn't matter. Down both guards and he still runs roughshod all over the place.

Larry Fitzgerald-My all time favorite Cardinal. I wish my daughter was old enough to understand just how great this man is and yes, I said man and not player. He is class on and off the field and he is a player this league should be holding up as a shining example of how to handle oneself. You never see him hotdog costing his team a penalty. You never see him showboat. You never hear or see him brag. When he is interviewed even after catching a bunch of balls for a lot of yards and scores, he credits his teammates. You never hear of him getting involved in this political garbage running rampant around the league. He carries himself with such class and grace that he should be the #1 role model in this league. I can't wait to tell my daughter all about him.

Special Teams-You read that right, I said special teams. From the opening kickoff return(which was wasted unfortunately), to Quigley's outstanding punts(after he pooched the first one that is) to the coverages, to the forced fumble at the beginning of the 2nd half(which was a game changer). All all around much, much better job tonight.

Chandler Jones-The guy was a beast tonight. All over the field and pressuring the QB all night even though he was being held all night with zero flags to boot. Best game of the year by him by far. He even deflected a pass that CC intercepted.

Marcus Golden-The kid was around the QB all night and got a couple of sacks.

CC-Best game by him all year as well. 2 sacks and an INT that was the turning point in the first half. Being down 7 with time running down and the team seemingly stuck in neutral and his INT kick started the entire team.

Kevin Minter-Really good game by him tonight. Couple of sacks too.

Deone Bucannon-We've been hard on him this season but 10 tackles and 4 assists makes this his best game all year.

Offensive Line-Down both starting guards, they opened up some great holes for DJ and only allowed 1 sack of stone footed Stanton.

The Bad

1st Half Playcalling-
Don't know what BA was thinking but with the running game moving well, he completely abandons it and passes with noodle armed Stanton. Speaking of which...

Drew Stanton-Yes he didn't do anything to lose the game and he did have a couple of decent passes for TD's but he misses wide open receivers and threw up more wounded ducks that I thought I was out in the middle of a lake during duck season. Thankfully the defense and running game stepped up because if we would have had to rely on him, we were toast. Let's hope Palmer is OK from here on out.

Hakeem Valles-Don't know of what scrap heap this clown came from but he needs to be sent back. 2 plays and he drops a pass right in his hands then is the culprit on an offensive PI call that nullified a 1st down.

Tyrann Matheiu-Now I loves me some HB and next to Fitz he's my 2nd favorite player but he was awful tonight. No way he's 100% because there's no way a clown like Kerley should have eaten him alive tonight.

The Ugly

Michael Floyd-
At one point I actually saw his name morph to Doucet for a split second. I mean I haven't seen hands that stoney since Roberto Duran. As someone said in the GD thread, I don't think he grasps the concept of a contract year.

Zero 1st Quarter Points-5th game in a row. Inexcusable why this team can't even kick a damned FG in the 1st quarter.

Officiating-Horrible. Fitz gets bodyslammed on a false start AFTER the whistle, no call. Chandler Jones played with the left tackle grabbing his jersey all night, no call. Speaking of their LT, the guy seemed to be jumping early all night, no call. On Hyde's TD run, the entire 49er offensive line was in motion before the snap, no call. And don't get me started on the BS PI call on HB late in the game. It amazes me how bad these people really are.

Well, that's it. 2-3 and on to a long rest and a MNF matchup with the J-E-T-S and our old friend Todd Bowles.

Thank god we won because the officiating was the worst I have seen all year! So many missed pi calls on the niners then they call a total BS one to hand SF a touchdown when we had stopped them in 4th down total joke. And yes their online held like crazy all night I'm screaming holding all night which was very evident on a lot of gabberts scrambles. Just looked like the keystone cops out their calling the game total idiots!

Good win and nice to see some players come to life. Tempering my enthusiasm though. It was the 49ers.

Still hoping this wakes up some guys and they go on a roll.

Considering we lost to 2 bad teams(Rams/Bills), this was a must game no matter who it was. Remember, this is the same 9er team that shut out the Rams in week 1. Winning a game like this with Noodle Arm Stanton at QB should give this team a boost. This team is capable of running off some wins and considering we have Seattle and Carolina coming up, it's a good idea to right the ship now.

I am still concerned about the defense. Even though they played a good game last night the Blaine Gabbert led Niner's offense still scored 21 points on them.

14. The last TD was due to a BS call in garbage time. Otherwise the 9ers had 2 good drives and that's it.

We need to consider where this team is still at even though the win was nice. Stanton looked nothing like a competent QB. We need Palmer back. Secondly will BA revert back to the offense he ran the first 4 weeks with Palmer back or realize the success they had running the offense last night. It was the 49ers. Floyd looks about as useful as teats on a bull. The Cardinals aren't going to get all those gifts the Niners gave them every week. Was the special teams play a mirage or something we can expect to see every week. It's something to build on however there are still areas of concern.

To put this in perspective, the Blaine Gabbert led offense scored 28 vs STL, 27 vs CAR, 18 vs SEA, 17 vs DAL ....

What about the mugging of Brittan Golden by those 2 guys. And then they flag him for retaliating.

The Good: 2 & 3....DJ...Wetzel & Watford...M Golden...

The Bad: No 1st Q points...WR Dropsy (i.e. Floyd, Smoky & Jaron B a little)

The Ugly: Overrunning the Blitz & Failure to Protect vs. Inside & Outside Scrambles....Any truth to the rumor that the Niner offense had 1 guy with Gabbert's name on his jersey and 10 guys with the name "Kerley" on theirs?

Humphries once again graded very highly per PFF.

Given his specialty is run blocking, and given that DJ runs primarily to the right side, id say hump is really excelling in that aspect.

I disagree. I know you feel their analysis is gold, but PFF remains garbage. I'll watch the coach's film this week, but it seems to me that in the passing game, he's getting pushed back directly into the quarterback and collapsing the pocket. At the end of running plays, he's consistently standing around watching the play at the end, or running forward without actually hitting anyone. It's odd.

Then you may not want to mention that whole incident with his baby mama where she got a restraining order when he assaulted her. But that was back in 2008, so water under the bridge, lol. His PR team does a good job of keeping his image squeaky clean.
