My ONLY concern with this pick comes right out of his own mouth. According to him he smoked TONS of weed and was addicted to it. Couldn't get by without it. I think that raises a chance of a relapse more than a casual user who can walk away from it.

I really hope it's behind him.

No one gets addicted to weed.. Have yet to see it..

I ****ing LOVE this pick. Absolutely ecstatic about it. He is one of the wildest playmakers I've seen in a long time, and just has an innate ability to make things happen. He's a joy to watch. Yes, he was incredibly stupid, and he is small...but his talent is undeniable. Dude is a highlight reel. With Ptwice, milner, a class dude like Larry and BA here, I think Honey Badger rides the straight and narrow.

You don't like it? Honey badger don't give a ****.

Keims plan is to get smaller and slower with highest risk at each position- Damn I'm disappointed- I thought we went mainstream away from being the laughing stock - but no- We got stupider!

Boom. this is the icing on the cake; thesmel hates it, so it must be good.

If there is any team that the Honey Badger would flourish in, it would be ours with PP21 as his teammate. I love it. Get his head straight and he'll be an excellent nickle.

Yep.

Clearly, a lot of posters do not really believe in BPA. There was no one CLOSE to this kid's TALENT for big time plays that we could've chosen instead at that point.

Yessir!

We just got a hell of a football player that is surrounded by what he considers to be family and he has a chip on his shoulder.

Chip on the shoulder is almost unfair...he's a beast without the chip.

I have some doubts about this pick. First the height issue, did someone say he is only 5 8 like Michael Adams? And why do we need Patrick Peterson to baby him, we need players without any issues; there are plenty of them out there. And one thing that really underwhelmed me was only 4 bench press reps. That is poor for any NFL player, especially one that has all year to prepare. I actually did 4 reps at 225 in the gym the other day and I am 5 7 and less than 150 pounds. I can hardly believe that I benched the same as the Cards 3rd round draft choice. Sorry but I'm completely unimpressed.

If you are unimpressed because of his height and his bench press, you must not have ever watched him play. You can say a LOT about the dude, but unimpressive is possibly the last word you'd ever hear. SMH

Oh I agree, I'm just repeating what he said. Those were his words. The kid had such a god-awful upbringing I really hope he can have some peace with his life now.

If this kid can indeed turn his life around and just focus on football he's going to be electric and a fan favorite for a long time...

7% of people who smoke it do. It is the lowest of any controlled substance. I happen to know two people who are addicted to it.

Initially I wasn't happy with the pick. Having read all the positive posts and knowing that PP and his pop, Fitz, Minter etc will be part of his support system makes me feel much better. No, ecstatic about the pick.

Also love the nickname Honey Badger. In regards to him being a FS, I think Dr Jones has it right as to how he will be used.

He says that "Honey Badger" is a nickname from his past and doesn't want to hear it. Mitch has offered one in keeping with his new life and perspective that I sort of like "Honey Cardinal".

Still not true addiction.

More like getting addicted to computer games or porn.

Those are also true addictions.

It's not habit forming, but you can be addicted to anything, chasing whatever thrill it is to the detriment of your better judgement.

Addiction isn't simply a physical characteristic, like smoking, crack, meth, heroin where your body is totally dependent upon a drug, it can also be psychological, such as sex, porn, gambling, etc. Given the way HB describes it, it was totally a psychological addiction that he used as a coping mechanism. MJ isn't physically addicting like other drugs, but you can absolutely get consumed by wanting to smoke to feel better regardless of the consequences. That's a basic definition of an addiction.

Good luck with that; Honey Badger won't go away, and it shouldn't. VICIOUS little bastard, which is what TM is.

Bonehead Cardinals. Some things never change. Draft a midget Ilb and a midget DB. Rookie GM, rookie coach.

Hiring and drafting people who know somebody instead of know how to win.

I was thinking about how Aaron Rodgers just killed Arizona by taking advantage of the height mismatch when Money Mike was on the field. Hope we don't see that with Mathieu. Rambo would have been the better pick if they wanted a FS.

But: 5-11 with 'em. 5-11 without 'em.

I think they will use him at FS, Nickel and obviously on special teams as both a coverage guy and as a returner. There is a lot of versatility to TM's game and because of that I really like the pick. Also considering the ball hawking tendencies they want from their DBs I wouldn't be shocked if they still drafted Rambo to play along side TM.

Draft a run-stopping ILB with great football IQ, who will be a solid defensive presence in the middle.

Draft a high-ceiling guy who has an innate ability to be in the middle of big plays, and plays FAR bigger than his stature, who already is familiar with our all-pro corner, trains with him and idolizes him. A guy who will bust up the middle of the field in a division where playmakers on offense have been added.

Oh, and one of the best players in the draft with the first pick.

Smart cardinals. Real GM. Good coach.

I agree with you at this point, but the fact of the matter is that none of us will be proven right or wrong until at least a year from now maybe even 3 years because that is supposedly the magic number for grading drafts.

those are all addictions but porn addictions are far more problematic. The addiction argument with marijuana is funny. People also get addicted to iced tea.

Ive smoked for 15 years and ive seen many people go through narcotic addictions - to try to call pot addictive is just funny to me. Ive smoked pot for 15+ years and cigarettes for 15+ years and I take time off from pot all the time just because, cigarettes if I dont have one for 2 hours I start to freak out.

Totally different animals.

This e cigarette has been helping me alot though. Off to the quitting smoking thread

pump the brakes

I've through the obsession of the mind and compulsion of the body- yea pot is a different sort of cat. Times are changing, medical marijuana cards and legalization since the $100 per ounce prohibition tax in the 30's. George Washington, ancient Chinese long long history of use- and abuse.

I've been clean and sober over 18 years, but only an idiot would not change his behavior when they carried it in their pocket in my day. Changes where they go and who they go with, The penalty increased from the hippie 60's to felony, to 3 strikes to life in prison for possession of the sweet leaf.

Individual choices are made- hide safely to reduce risk, carry only as much as you can eat, defend it against everybody who isn't cops. ect ect. The constitution says we don't have to produce evidence against ourselves and the government can't violate a persons bodily functions- but if you want a job or probation instead of jail- the piss test is acceptable.

But a vast majority of the time this fact remains- when faced with penalties of seizure of anything you have or have earned- in a lifetime. Fines - Loss of personal freedom,- loss of job- or family. Many folks choose to risk all for just one more high. Of course in America it depends how much money you have to defend yourself - against your habit-passion - medical need or zillion other rationalizations. Some countries just rub you the hell out.

So my opinion doesn't really matter- never has much- but the odds against the Honey Badger are long- and PP - Keim and BA has hitched their integrity and dignity to that wagon, and henceforth OUR FAN DOLLARS and Cardinals destiny. May seem a lil dramatic- but I am a cardinal fanatic. GM's Coaches and players have come and gone- But we the fans carry the burdens of ghosts of Cardinals past, current and future.

I wake up each morning staring my teams humiliation straight in the face. I Cardinal up and take it like a fan. I can't hitch my fanhood to this regimes wagon. Not yet, I'll try to respect others that do.

You find it funny that I have two people close to me facing addictions. You are really a terrible human being and I hope you know this.

Addiction. Observational studies suggest that one in nine people who smokes marijuana regularly becomes dependent on it. Research both in animals and in people provides evidence that marijuana is an addictive substance, especially when used for prolonged periods.
