Smith was a pass rushing dynamo and then got a season ending injury...I wanted him but I'm thinking he fell off the draft charts because the teams found out his injury was more severe than we might know. I like him a lot and if he got back to speed, a huge factor

if we can get CC back healthy in a week and Okafor can bring a little heat, it'll make a huge difference on this D, especially with HB looking like he's rounding into shape.

His first sack was weird he was being held the entire time right through the sack, took forever he just pushed the guy back and Cousins just stood there. Had no idea Okafor was that strong, both of his sacks were just bull rushes.

The kid just needs to have some time on the field and realize his potential. He did not play on a good defense at UT and at times seemed to give up because winning was not possible. He can play and he can get a lot better than today and I am confident of that

I'll take bull rush sacks but we still need some who can get to the QB uber quick. At least Okafor can generate pressure and get to the QB, only CC currently has that ability on this D and he's out right now. HB is very good at blitzing but that's about it for pass rushing talent on this team.

Disagree amigo. DWashout is a far better blitzer then Minter or Foote or Acho or any other LBer on this team. I would agree that Bowles designs some great blitzes and can get pressure using anyone of the D.

I know that HB has ninja level FB skills that make his a unique talent and that includes his blitzing ability. His timing and feel gets him free runs out the QB more than any of the other DB's on the team.

He got good push. Thought he played well.

Remember this is a complete position change for him.

If you bother to check, he spent most of the game occupying two O-linemen. That is what CC does too. That allows others to get free to fill holes. to stop the run. He was there.

Nice production with some strong bull rushes which resulted in sacks. Not the edge rush guy we lacking, but a guy who can win in a one on one matchup which is nice.
