My son told me today that he heard MJ say that the Birds are bringing in Karlos Dansby for a visit. Has anyone else heard this? I would love to see Los back in Cardinal Red.

Mike Jurecki @mikejurecki

Hearing LB Karlos Dansby is scheduled to visit the Cards tomorrow, based on recent events Cards need an insurance policy at linebacker.

One of them said they spoke with Dansby some time ago and he was against coming here to play for 4 weeks.

I am guessing they'll sign him to a reasonable 1 year deal.

The Cardinals obviously know more than we do about the D-Wash situation, and if the bolded statement is true, then this may be a telling sign of whats to come in future discipline of Daryl Washington.

was thinking the same. But then maybe they expect Minter to get off to a slow start and rotate em or something. And that statement could be completely wrong. Just gotta wait and see

I don't think this proves that they actually know much more than we do. Bottom line is you can't just have something like the DWash situation going on and not be thinking of a backup/insurance plan in case it ends up really bad. Not to say they don't know a lot more cause they might.

U smoke weed n beat up ladies you've got to go.

As u state Cards know a lot more than we do. A- dans by contract is within the numbers cards will work. B - wash is gonna be gone longer than the 4 we know of.

Well I'm happy your not the GM. Giving up on on DW already when the facts haven't even come out yet.

Is strange here how people in off season forget how much great is daryl washinton..
The best player on the team last season.
Make a pro bowl playing Lb with cardinals is very hard
Is one of the player who make people love football with his anticipation and speed
Now for someone is replaceable...

It would make sense to me if they signed Los to a 1 year contract, (maybe even two if the situation with D-Wash drags out in the courts). When they see what the end results are, they can decide who to keep and who to let go. Meantime, they would have at least (some) recourse for this upcoming season, should they lose D-Wash for protracted time above the 4 weeks already lost. Who knows, maybe they even will decide to rid themselves of a player who either can't, (or won't), control his own personal life. It might just press the point home to anyone else on the roster who might be prone to laxity and temptation. It wouldn't be the first time that an authority made an example of an exceptional employee.

Los makes sense on a one or two year deal what with the DWash situation looking worse. $1 or 2 million signing bonus on a two year deal, $6 million total package. He's familiar with Todd Bowles and although I don't think he's as good as DWash, he could fill that role.

How similar are DWash and Dansby?

First 3 years in the NFL:

Dansby 17 sacks, 4 int, 13pdf, 4 forced fumbles
DWash 15 sacks, 4 int, 11pdf, 3 forced fumbles

Not sure how to find it and I am not going to look for it myself, but stuffs and stuff yardage is something I would like to compare as well. DWash has been amongst the leaders in the NFL in that stat over the last 2 seasons and the leader in that stat amongst ILBs. All the players with more are pass rushing players like DeMarcus Ware and Jared Allen.

funny, I google image searched dansby and the majority of his pictures are in cardinal gear.

Also, him and dwash carry the same number.

And for nostalgia

I've posted this before, but relevant here. One of the most vivid Cardinals memories I have is Dansby scooping up the fumble in the playoffs and running it in for a touchdown. The excitement of that play at the time was unbeleivable.
