Jets cut Tony Richardson

A 15-year veteran and three-time Pro Bowler, Richard spent two seasons with the Jets, which followed two seasons with the Vikings, which followed 11 with the Chiefs. The Jets could be planning to re-sign Richardson after the first game, at which time the balance of his salary would not be guaranteed.

F waiting a week for a non-guanteed contract. Get him in here asap. He and Fast Willie.

I would still like to add Tony Richardson. A real professional at FB and can still play. He would also be a good receiving option. Worth finding a place for in my opinion, and we could use two fullbacks.

Amen to that. I love his game.

It figures Sando is on top of it. Somers at least reported MacDonald and Obiozor...with no clue as to whom was being released. And Urban, in typical fashion, has been AWOL all day.

I am pretty sure Urban cant say much until official announcements or given the OK by his own bosses. He works for the team and all you know.

Never heard of him. Did he have a good camp? Saw he was cut by the Rams last year.

My friend played through the preseason w/ the G-Men (he was cut yesterday) so I payed a little attention to them, as well as the Jets (whom he may sign w/ now). Jake kept bragging and saying he was a beast and watching him a few times I was definitely impressed.

Agreed. It really bothers me when people rip Urban. Working for the team he doesn't have the freedom to speculate or report prematurely nearly as much as others might. Also, he will respond to nearly every question that is asked on the site. I have never seen a writer that communicated more frequently with the fans. Pretty lucky to have him around IMO. I would imagine that between Somers, Urban, and Sando there isn't better coverage for any team in the league.

Hate to see Green go. Hope he is at least on PS.

I am surprised about Green, if for no other reason, I thought he was ahead of fellow undrafted CB A.J. Jefferson, who remains on the team. Of course, Green is sub-5-foot-10 and Jefferson is 6-foot, and you always wonder if that impacts. I could see Green coming back to the practice squad.

I had a feeling that Green's size would work against him.
