Really wanted the Chargers to go after him because he could've been their missing piece in the playoffs since they get terrible play from Addea.

Cardinals should be rebuilding, I don't understand this move from them all that much since it's unlikely they will be a playoff or winning team next season either. I wonder if Addea can request the Cardinals to not claim him so he can go to a playoff team and get more exposure which can help his contract status after next season.

NFL's waiver claim system should not apply this late in the season imo.

How does Swearinger not fit a rebuild? The way i see it, with additions like Cooper and Swearinger, Keim got a three-month head start on free agency

Giving up nothing to aquire under 30 players, who've recently played at pro-bowl level, on cheap contracts is no way to re-build.

At least there is one benefit to being the worst team in the league. You get first dibbs on released players. :D

You think the waiver system is flawed becuase the worst teams get first shot at cut players? So the saints, rams and chargers should have 1st dibs before teams with a poor season?

GREAT move by Keim,.DJ is a really good player under contract for a reasonable price in 2019. Glad hes back in az. We just need to sign a no2 corner and our secondary wip be stacked. Or draft greedy williams.

I've been a Swearinger fan going back to his days at South Carolina, so I'm stoked that he's coming back.

While safety hasn't been a weakness for the Cardinals, Swearinger brings a swagger and attitude back to the defense. It's great to see that he's happy to come back here; I think the team moved on from him because of his attitude, but after 3 straight poopy seasons, I think the Cardinals can use more attitude again.

Now if only we could get back Calais and a few of the other decisions that have robbed talent off this defense.

I don't know. The defensive line has been more than adequate. I would bring Calais back on a cheaper vet deal, but I wouldn't throw big money at him.

Sorry!

Thank God, we're not stuck with the Calais deal going forward.

What do you mean? Only two years left on his deal and only 3 million in dead money if they were dumb enough to cut him. His deal averages about 15 million.

We can have easily afforded him for the next two years, especially with a rookie QB deal

Has it been? I see runners routinely making it to the second level and that just didn't happen with a stronger point of attack.

And lets not get into the locker room value that Calais had.

It simply not a good use of $$$ for a post-30-year-old.

Calais' run-stuffing strength was in our 3-4, not the present 4-3.

I'm fairly sure he's well-liked but none of us has spent a nanosecond in the Cards' locker room.

We will just disagree then.

9 sacks, 48 solo tackles, 19 tackles for a loss, and 20 QB hits.

That's markedly better than our best defender Chandler Jones on everything but sacks

48 solo tackles. Man after watching last week

Except that whole All or Nothing thing but yeah sure.

Look, you didn't know how long the contract was and laughably tried to say we would be saddled with it.

You didn't know that it had little cap impact if you got rid of it

You had no idea the production he is having.

Just stop.

You also probably didn't know the Jaguars base defense is a 4-3

I know he's 32 and part of our past, not future.
