According to ESPN

.....The Cardinals' brass is considering free agent Levi Jones, who was released by Cincinnati earlier this spring and is a superior player to Gandy if healthy. In fact, the Cardinals have already spoken to Jones about his possible interest in the team....

Is this true. It might not be bad

i still wish we'd sign Vick if it was for a good price. imagine him in the backfield, his explosiveness and elusivness....not to mention his ability to pass would cause lots of confusion for the defense. i don't recall him ever causing any bad chemistry in the locker room besides that whole dog issue

Cody, part of the problem is team chemistry. Hopefully we have our quarterback of the future. Putting Vick into the mix could create problems, plus he would take up a roster spot that we just don't have available.

His knees are made of paper machete. When healthy, though, he's a good player. He also hates Joey Porter, which is always a plus. I think he'd be a solid addition.

Only if he'd want to be signed as a RB for a cheap price. Even then the Cardinals have Wells and Hightower, so they are pretty much at RB as well. The Cardinals have their present QB in Kurt Warner and the QBOTF in Matt Leinart.

i didn't mean as QB...i meant as a SITUATIONAL running back or quarterback...or for trick plays...just to confuse the defense. he could also probably return punts, kicks etc

yeah i know i mean he could play all over, whether you put him in the slot, back field, as QB...it would just really make the defense think and would could open up a lot of things. and to be honest, i think vick would make a good RB, even though i'm not sure about his toughness, strength, ball carrying, etc

anyways i know it would never happen i just thought it would be cool. but i bet wherever vick ends up i bet hell be making a good amount of money

If he is healthy from the leg injuries that forced the Bengals to draft Andre Smith and cut Levi Jones, then it would be an awesome move. Especially with all the talk that Gandy has been playing through various leg injuries the last two years I am not so sure how long he can keep playing like that for a full season and well into the playoffs. So IF Levi is healthy we might be able to pull of a very savvy move of signing a good 29 year old to a very cheap deal for the foreseeable future.

But I don't have faith in the Cards medical staff to sniff out and diagnose injuries properly (see Al Johnson and Laboy), so even if we did sign him it will most likely turn out bad, just like any other player we have signed with bad injury problems in the past, so I say don't do it.

consider this for the rest of the time the bidwill family and graves run things

if someone gets a ticket for spitting on the street
if someone gets a ticket for j-walking

they have character issues and are not fit for this team.

I wasn't referring to his dog fighting issue. I feel he was railroaded anyway. I just don't think he would fit into this organization because he won't be happy unless he can play QB and we just don't need another QB right now.

I would love to ADD Jones to the roster. But I said ADD, not sign him to release our best OL in Gandy.

Here is my default response for guys like Levi:

1-year vet. minimum. Pass a physical and we'll see how you do in training camp

Copy/paste that if you want

Let's focus on Levi Jones.

His experience alone would make him insane depth. A year as a backup would give him a chance to heal a little more, learn the system, then compete for LT next season.

Great point, at the right price he is well worth it.
