Nothing really new but current.

The Arizona Cardinals are expected to move on from defensive back Tyrann Mathieu this offseason according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

The masses are morons, no revelation there... get a kick out of people posting with the image the media continues to promote him as the game changer he was two years ago, till we would try to trade him and the NFL teams say no way for the perceived worth lol

Send his overrated overpaid self out of town.Bye and good riddance.

I think it's probably the right move but I don't understand the hate towards him. He put it on the line every Sunday. Unfortunately his style of play caught up to him. It's sad to watch a player with greatness decline in playing ability.

I wonder if ARZ is reconsidering making a run at Cousins after his run in with Larry. Maybe ARZ feels they need the TM money to add to their offer to Cousins?

I think Mathieu has been amazing for us for a couple of years, but the injuries slowed him
When he torn the Acl the organization gave him a huge contract showing a lot of respect for what he did
He should take a paycut in respect on what this franchise did for him
Drafted in third round when other teams ignored him and got after 2 years a lucrative contract by the cardinals

Since his injuries he doesn't seem to have the same speed that made his instincts work. I still think he can benefit the cardinals with the right surrounding support. Of course the dollars no longer work.

Dude, an era is defined as "a long and distinct period of history"... which he has not
5 years of my life when I've only lived 30 kinda feels like an "era," haha. I was 25 and attending my grandfather's wake when we drafted the guy... my life has changed significantly since.

Really though, it's kinda outside of the football field. My former buddy was a huge 49er fan and we used to have a "Kaepernick vs. Tyrann" rivalry... led to fantasy football inside jokes, lots of different fun, trips to AZ and SF for games... a great period of my life. I've since had a permanent falling out with that dude and Tyrann not being on the roster is a reminder that the fun of my 20s is over.

I know it's silly, it's just going to be sad to see him on another team.

I like him but his star faded fast because of injury. I hate to see him go because I love his heart but his skills just aren't there anymore. Of course, knowing our luck, we'll cut him, he'll go somewhere else and become an all pro.

Good riddance?!?!? Why the hate?
Don't like his attitude of "I ain't taking a pay cut". The Cards took a chance with him and he made good money. Now he is a liability in coverage(he was okay at best when healthy in coverage).Basically he could have said let's work together to see what we can do .Instead he spouts off.I don't care for that.Cards will be here long after Matthieu is chasing another wide open WR on his new team.

If he’s smart he will take a pay cut. If not then he’ll learn the hard way to take a bigger pay cut.

We’ll never know what restructure the Cards offered Matthieu. That said, it’s entirely possible than Tyrann will get a bigger contract on the open market from a team with no overhang than he could get from the Cards.

So, you're basing your hate on a most likely fake quote from TM? He played a full season last year and stayed healthy...and played the most snaps in the NFL. He may no longer be electric, but he puts it all out there, plays hard and has become a leader on the team.
