I HAVE A PRONOUNCEMENT TO MAKE-----
For those of you who get so much pleasure in bashing this team, its players, the coaching staff, the ownership et/al: I stand before you today to proclaim that you will regret the day that you decided to indulge in such activity.
Now that I have your attention,-----let me say that you are many indeed, and that you came from out of the wood-work spewing your vile thoughts, words, and venom against many on this team and its ownership and staff, and even on its LOYAL fans. FOR WHAT ????
Does it make you feel better, when you pile on somebody like Derek Anderson after he has a really bad day, BUT STILL ONE IN WHICH HE MANAGED TO GET US ENOUGH POINTS WITH THE OFFENSE THAT WE CAME UP WITH A WIN???? Do you take such pleasure in denegrating our 'O-line' because, (in your opinion they suck)?????
Do you really enjoy calling for the head of a rookie punt-returner because he had the audacity to want so badly to do good things that he muffed two punts, fumbled another, and fumbled a pass completion deep in the red zone?????
Three years ago, all Coach Whizenhunt promised is that he would build a tough, smart, disciplilned team. Where has he failed you so badly that fully half of you are jumping off the band-wagon and mouthing all this nonsense.
All your brand new quarterback really accomplished, (other than to win the game0, was to win the admiration, (and the trust), of his team-mates both on offense and defense, as well as the admiration of the coaches. He personified those traits that Coach Whizenhunt said he would develop three years ago. This guy, in his very first game as the starting quarterback for this team in real play, and after taking a terriffic beating throughout the contest, pulled himself together during a time out, and then came back and led this team to a victory, aided of course by his team-mates, both on offense and on defense. For those of you who are bashing on him right now, I CHALLENGE YOU TO FIND JUST ONE OF DA'S TEAM-MATES WHO WOULD NOT BE WILLING TO FOLLOW HIM TO THE VERY GATES OF HELL ITSELF, after his (crappy) performance against the Rams. They would laugh in your face.
Those of you who are bashing our 'O-line', consider that not only did they make adjustments on the fly to facilitate our running game, but they accomplished something that our Super-Bowl team couldn't. That was being willing to chase down a ball-carrier to recover a fumble caused by a (chasing offensive receiver) in the end zone for a touch-back and a Cardinals possession instead of a Rams TD. I can assure you that Coach Whizenhunt noticed and admired that.
As for the rookie punt returner, its a darned shame that none of you ever had the anxiety and pressure of trying to impress on that very first day that you were put out on your own at a new job. If ANY of you would have had that chance, then surely you would have remembered just how daunting a task it is trying to overcome first day jitters in front of a new boss, and new co-workers, forget about the audience watching in the stadium and on television. But of course all you bashers are above such flaws as anxiety and nervousness while under pressure to excell.
Look----this is a forum to DISCUSS all things Cardinal. The last time I looked, discussion meant that you had an opinion, and that the opinion was based on at least some premise of review, not just a quick decision that (THEY SUCK), because they sucked before they got here, and you already knew that. You know what, (GET USED TO IT), becasue Coach Whizenhunt has made his choice for QB, and DA has done nothing to diminish the faith that he has in DA to improve. If anything, DA's performance won Whiz's heart this past Sunday, just like he won his team-mates hearts. Those of you who can't at least acknowlege that this team, who went into hostile territory, with a plethora of new players, both rookie and veteran, and in their first game together, they came together as no Cardinal team ever has before, and pulled out a terrific divisional road victory should take note. YOU GOT YOUR TOUGH, SMART, DISCIPLINED FOOTBALL AND THEN SOME. No, it wasn't pretty, but if you want pretty, then maybe you should have followed Matt Hollywood to Houston, and watch him ride the pine there.
All I am saying is DISCUSS IF YOU WILL, but let that discussion include credit where credit is due, as well as bashing when you have someone down already. I'm finished now-------
