I like it. You guys wont want to draft a QB anyway. It's always a better class next year.

if he isn't going to make this team suddenly good, why would you give up ANYTHING for him? Rather watching AP than CJ just isn't reason to give up future assets... when we'll probably need all we can use when we're somehow just not awful enough to get a crack at a top QB... again.
It's a conditional pick, so if he sucks, like you think he will it will probably cost zero...If he performs and they start winning, then Hell Yes it's worth the pick.

You really have to chuckle at the hypocrisy of folks who complained about Rod Graves doing nothing now complaining about SK doing something.

There are still eleven games to go this year, and our division sucks. Sure this is a desperate move by SK, but that is where we currently find ourselves. No one thinks that AP is going to vault us to a championship. What we've put on the field the last 4 games isn't getting it done. Time to move on and try something else.... and initially, sounds like a very low draft choice, so no risk in compromising our potential to move up if needed in the next draft.

I skipped last week's game because I knew how it was going to turn out. I'd have watched this week regardless, but I'm looking forward to seeing what AD can do.

OLine is dreadful now, but I do expect to see some improvement from them as the season progresses. A lot of these guys were never supposed to see the field this year, but again, that's where we are. We can only hope they can stay healthy together long enough to figure out how to work together and somehow keep CP on his feet.

As for our running game, I've seen enough of CJ. Bring on the Peterson era! At least until David is ready to return, hopefully in time for a late run to challenge for the division title... even if it's at 8-8.

Go Cards!!!

Best post by far so far in this thread. Granted I'm only at page 19 of eleventybillion.

Maybe I'm stupid but we're 2-3 right? We get DJ back for week eleven? All the FO and coaches are trying to do is be 5-5 by the time we get Johnson back. After that, work to go 4-2 or 5-1, and sneak into the playoffs. That's the new plan. If you don't like it, sorry.

Yes, I understand we were not competitive against the Eagles, yes I understand our special teams had a bad game again last week.

But I would be more upset if we had not lost the best offensive player in football from our team during the first game.

CJ, god bless him, is 0 for 87 in making the first man miss this year, and doesn't have enough left to get to the corner. HE is the one who is washed up (Sorry Chris). AP, while not the AP of old, is a significant upgrade which we need RIGHT NOW, as we try to get to that 5-5 mark.

Are the FO and coaches "desperate"? Maybe. But they were dealt a crushing blow in the first hour of the season, and so yes, they're going to have take a flyer, maybe two, to keep the ship afloat.

What's funny to me is how a bunch you guys are prancing around like we have Dave McGinness and Rod Graves running the show. It's maybe not so much funny as it is stupid.

At this point - tank. They have zero hope of success, that last game confirmed it.

All they are doing is ensuring we don't get a chance to draft one of the top qbs.

Losing is not the job description for the coaches or players... so no, do not expect to ask a professional to tank when their world is in the here and now, Keim is more in charge of the future and ultimately the owner who probably wants to win now

Back when Birdman was getting the board all geeked up for AP to become a Card I stated I didn't want him because of his attitude and of course the use of a switch on his boy. So I'm not a fan of the move but I get why BASK is grasping at straws.

Fans can say tank for QBOF or the season is lost so who cares, well I know Fitz cares and so does Palmer and they don't have many if any more seasons left to get to the SB. Most of us fans have decades of time but the players don't and BASK owes it to them to try.

Mike Lombardi says "The Cards franchise will now have 2 of the greatest backs in NFL as part of their history" so who is he ignoring, Emmitt or Edge?

It was maybe the most embarrassing moment for me as a Cards fan when Emmitt cried after getting shut down in his first game (or was it against the Cowboys). I'll be less embarrassed when AP cries after getting shut down. What's the over under for how many games it will take for AP to cry?

I have 10% hopeful expectation that AP will make a difference.

The first missed tackle that AP causes on Sunday will probably be the first one for the team all season. We literally had the worst group of runners in the league. None of these guys could break a tackle to save their lives. I for one would have no problem cutting KW and letting DJ Foster run kicks back the way the return game is. I am pretty confident we won’t rush for 31 yards on Sunday.

As to the team as a whole we are actually doing ok considering our last two first round picks were on the bench last Sunday, our latest first round pick is playing out of position, our third round pick is inactive for 4 out of 5 games, our do everything rb has been out since week 1 and we’re being led by a glorified TE at receiver.

Ill be honest... after a day of hemming and hawing, I can say this... I now have more than a keen interest in this week's game... if only for morbid curiosity sake.

we didn't give up much, it's a hail mary that will probably fail spectacularly, but if this season is going to suck, at least we'll probably get some crazy sideline drama out of it... and if our prayer is answered, we could do like Major League...

AND WIN THE WHOLE F'N THING!

It dawned on me that if we traded a conditional 6th round pick for some rb on another squad that none of us had ever heard of we likely wouldn't have batted an eyelash. Bc it's AP everyone is up in arms on the positive or negative side. Funny.

Interesting fact about Emmitt Smith, 937 yards rushing his rookie year as a Cowboy and 937 rushing yards his final year as a Cardinal, and the painter Raphael was born on Good Friday and died on Good Friday but that is a totally different story... btw, does Wednesday now become Birdman day if AP officially signs mañana :)

Wow was out of town the past few days and actually missed Sunday’s game. Probably good I missed it actually would have ruined my day I’m sure. Anyway AP is miles better than anyone we have running now so not sure why some are critical of the move. At least this FO try’s to do something we do after all still have 11 games left. The season is not over and anything that can be done to help Palmer and this pathetic offense right now is damn good imo! Just having him in the backfield looks scarier to opposing Ds than anything we have back there now so. He’s had low carries the past few years (totally misused) so will be interesting to watch which is something for this team right now!

Yes because those top QB's are a sure thing.

I don't think the Cards can win the SB, or even the NFC, but despite what the board "experts" are clamoring, they can very much win the crappy NFC West and I'm all for that. I'll even take playing meaningful games in December. Seattle and the "great" LA Rams are 1 game ahead of the Cards who are playing the season so far with one arm tied behind their back.

But it is much easier to sit back and say they suck, which they do SO FAR with a limited roster, but it's not like they're the Browns roster out there. They have a top level QB and despite last game, have a pretty good defense.

And this is coming from one of the biggest darksiders around back in the day. But those rosters stunk. This one is decimated by injuries so far but they'll be back at some point this season.

I knew this ugliness had to rear its head soon!!!!! We are O-fficially back to the "good old" days where realistic fans are the darkside and delusional fans tell us we aren't fans!!! Yay! Skkorp would be so proud.

I'm sure Skkorp would be proud of your post as well. My side is right and if you don't agree with me ...well you're stupid.
