Excellent..

Hopefully no more Francisco on the field. And if Rolle could become even a solid FS, then our secondary is pretty darn good.

McFadden's first-year salary of $3.75 million is guaranteed, and he receives a $1 million roster bonus and $250,000 workout bonus. The $5 million salary for the second year is not guaranteed.

With Seattle getting TJ and assume Hasselback returning this was a much needed signing.

Very Happy!!

Good, experienced corners are hard to find. Now, if we make the "Wright" choice we'll be that much further ahead.

Shane, do you think he starts ahead of Hood? His salary would indicate that is the plan. That would move Hood into the nickel-back slot in place of (un-signed) Ralph Brown. Our depth chart for 2009 at CB would be DRC,McFadden,Hood. Last year I think it started as Hood,Green,DRC.

Dont know yet. IMO it would have to be a competition. Cant really compare salaries because Hood was signed two years ago and salaries have inflated since then. It woudlnt shock me is Hood started still. Its a good signing though and we are a better team for it IMO.

With the years, and money this is a very good signing and glad we landed him. Although what broken arm? Was this something in the past, or is it broken right now?

I'm pretty sure he'll be CB2, and Hood will be the nickel. Hood is an ok option at CB2, but he is an outstanding nickel. That's what he played in Philly.

This, at the very least, secures our secondary and improves it from last season. McFadden >>>>>>>>> Green. Plus, McFadden is still young and improving and I think he's going to give us a really solid secondary.

Now let's address that pass rush!

Plus, we don't have to target a CB in this draft at all if we don't feel the need to.

Last season...he missed a lot of games late, but came back for the playoffs.

Mcfadden is better than Hood. Rod's best play came in Philly as a nickleback. Im glad he'll be returning to that role. It became clear in games last yr that teams would target Hood. We heard about Vikings coaches and Eagles coaches doing it

Gotcha! I am still shocked something like a broken arm would make it tough for a long term deal. Once a broken arm heals, it is completely fine. I am shocked he couldn't get more than a 2 year deal.

Oh well. This is good because he has 2 years to proves other teams (and the Cardinals) that he is a good CB. So he will be playing for a contract instead of taking it easier since he already got his contract and money.

I like.

I am betting there will be competition for all starting spots. That is the way Coach does business. Check Kurt/Matt, Edge/Tim etc.

All? Come on you know better than that.

I hear your going price for a photo is a beer. I would like to get one with you next season.

Maybe, just maybe...after getting to the Superbowl and winning the NFC championship...maybe we should forget our past (just for once)...we got McFadden, Warner resigned no matter what happened in the chain of events, Boldin is still under contract and there to trade if the FO sees it best

maybe, we should dare I say TRUST GRAVES AND WHIS

maybe we should and for now put this inferior complex of ours out the window...maybe I should quit my Early Doucet fan club...nahhhhh, it is too fun

way to GO Graves, Whis and yes...the Bidwills

Agent Drew is very shrewed. I read where he was holding out for a short-term deal so that McFadden would be an FA in 2 years (after proving the broken arm didn't affect anything) and would then want big $.
