A New Beginning at azcardinals.com
Start of camp ushers in changes for Cards' website
Darren Urban
Today I start my new post as manager of azcardinals.com.
In a lot of ways, azcardinals.com starts fresh as well.
Some of you know my work covering the team for the East Valley Tribune, some may not. Coming to the team site, my goal is to make this required reading for Cardinals fans every day – and hopefully, the first place you come to to find out about the team.
There are those out there – and yes, I read message boards – that wonder what I will write now that I work for the team. I can say in all honesty some of my stories won’t be exactly the same. But I will also say it is not the intention of the team for me to write meaningless fluff, nor would I have wanted the job had that been the case.
If you make the effort to come to the site, we must make the effort to post items worthy of reading and watching.
Along those lines, my door is always open (at least, through the web). Anyone who has any questions about the team or more importantly, suggestions about the website, please e-mail me at
[email protected]. I want to hear from you.
My arrival will allow for so much more than just better or more frequent stories. I will be writing a blog, with a plan to write much like I did with my former blog at my old place.
And while I am writing, website coordinator Kate Brandt can get back to more of what she does well – video packages – to improve the multimedia experience. We are already bouncing around ideas.
Of course, sometimes change takes time. Some ideas can be implemented right away, some will take longer.
But change is coming.
