I believe he did a good job with the "talent" he had every game. They played hard and never quit. Just no 2nd or 3rd level talent. Maybe not even 1st level talent.
Lets be honest, the defense was so bad in every facets that Is hard to say he did a good job, we cant even judge him negatively considering the lack of talent

Given the lack of talent, and the amount of injuries, of this defense, they balled out pretty hard. I would say completely due to coaching.
I’m quoting myself, which is weird, but so am I, but I do think the players on D this last season deserve a ton of credit in addition to the staff. I don’t care what their ranking was. They were outgunned from the get go, and it got worse losing players, but they still brought it. Maybe that’s not the full foundation, but it sure as hell is a big chunk of the rebar.
