It would be great if Emmitt COULD carry the ball 20+ times a game.

He CAN'T.

When we need him most, ahead late in a game, Emmitt's on the bench, done.

Yes, I think Denny manipultes the injury report, a lot of coaches do, at least the good ones do.

The Patriots have listed Brady on their report every week this season as "probable (shoulder)", when in reality he's fine. No idea why, but Belichick does it every week.

Could be. The NFL fines for that now thanks to Shanahan constantly lying about injuries on lists and during games.

101/2 minutes without Emmitt once saying he had a bad ankle, Patrick wished him luck in Carolina and he said thanks, not well my ankle may keep me out.

The telling thing was watching him walk down that tunnel. I have no doubt he is fine.

The only thing Green could do was to agree with Emmitt to fake it and help him save face for being benched otherwise he'd have to just bench him to achieve the same thing.

Could be they had a talk and decided to go that route, who knows but he certainly dosen't look injured at all.

so now we are saying that the all time leading rusher will agree to fake an injury so that his coach can save face for benching him after he was spotted on the sidelines of his former team on his off day... all while the team is in the hunt for the playoffs

Thankfully we've been playing our back ups frequently. Dockett and Dansby would be sorely missed but not devestatingly so. .

i have to disagree with you here. losing one would be a blow, losing both would be devastating. dockett's disruption is what is making all of our other defenders so effective in the passrush. berry will be mercilessly double teamed if there is no docket. and dansby is fast becoming our greatest playmaker.

I agree, it sounds silly.

but no sillier than believing that a guy who was given 4 clear chances to tell Dan Patrick about his ankle injury forgot to mention it all 4 times. IN fact forgot so completely he told Patrick he felt great, said he felt better this Monday than on most mondays after games.

That same guy then flew to Dallas, watched half a game, walked out of the tunnel with no discernible limp, and suddenly wed he can't practice because of an injury he suffered on SUNDAY?

I agree Conrad's take sounds out of left field, but so does what the official version is.
I won't make up my mind until Sunday, but if Emmitt doesn't play, or plays but doesn't start, I'm inclined to think it's discipline from Green not a bum ankle. My instinct is Conrad is closer to the truth than what the official story is.

Not only that. But they decided this before he went to Dallas. Green said he was hurt Monday AM.

Smith: Coach I want to go watch MNF in Dallas
Green: OK go. But I will have to say that you are injured and not let you play next week
Smith: Thanks coach, See you Wednesday
Green: say hi to Bill for me

Ditto, those 2 kids are completely changing the face of this defense. With them out and Starks playing part time the game would be a much tougher game for us to win.

The story Tuesday afternoon in the AZ Republic website says the Cards came out of Sunday's game with ONE listed injury, Renaldo Hill's bruised shoulder.

Now we have Dansby, Dockett and Smith all hurt?

Nov 17 Darren Urban, of the East Valley Tribune, reports Arizona Cardinals LB Karlos Dansby (neck) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 17, and is day-to-day. He was not even able to go through the team's walk-through.

Nov 17 Darren Urban, of the East Valley Tribune, reports Arizona Cardinals DT Darnell Dockett (groin) practiced Wednesday, Nov. 17, and should be available for Week 11.

Nov 18 Due to some swelling in his sprained left ankle, Smith was held out of practice on Wednesday, and the Cardinals have listed him as questionable on the injury report. The veteran running back will be evaluated on a daily basis to determine his availability for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.
Advice: If Smith is unable to play, Troy Hambrick will get the nod and handle the bulk of the carries for Arizona. In nine games this season, Smith has 632 yards and nine touchdowns on 170 carries.

Nov 18 Cardinals' running back Emmitt Smith did not practice on Wednesday because of the left ankle sprain he suffered during week 10. He is listed on the injury report as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Views: If he can get healthy before Sunday, Smith should have a big week, as the Panthers have surrendered 10 touchdowns over the past five weeks. If Smith is sidelined, Troy Hambrick would likely replace him in the starting lineup, and Josh Scobey would continue to be used in third down situations.

Nov 17 Darren Urban, of the East Valley Tribune, reports Arizona Cardinals RB Emmitt Smith (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 17, and had some swelling in his ankle. He is day-to-day.

Nov 17 Darren Urban, of the East Valley Tribune, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Josh McCown (neck) practiced Wednesday, Nov. 17, and should be available for Week 11.

Mondays PC

Green talks about Hill then says that Smith twisted his ankle.

Not doubting you. Just saying the official injury list on tuesday didn't list Emmitt, Dansby or Dockett.

And again, Smith himself Monday morning repeatedly was asked about his health and said nothing about the ankle. I'm sure he DID twist it, but if he misses the game on Sunday it won't be because of his ankle IMHO, it wasn't bothering him at all on Monday.

That sucks. What the hell is going on here? Could it be that Gree thinks we can win this game easily (yeah, right--like the cards have any of those games) and is padding the injury report so he can sit some of the starters for a mid-season break before the playoff stretch?

That sounds really far-fetched, I know. I don't necessarily think that's the case, but this is too strange.
