It’s no surprise that the Cardinals need help at the quarterback position. And so the Cardinals are expected to make a play for a quarterback early in the free-agency process.

But who will they target? While it wouldn’t take much to upgrade their depth chart, the Cardinals don’t have many options in free agency.

Drew Stanton? Jason Campbell? Brady Quinn? David Carr?
Yes, the options are limited.

Unless, of course, the Raiders cut Carson Palmer. There’s speculation in league circles that the Cardinals are waiting for that to happen.

Cardinals are expected to target a quarterback, but who?...Link

Better than anything we have. Beggars might be choosers, but they ain't choosing from a very wide selection.

Fine with Palmer if it happens. Draft a QB and have him be a stopgap. Still think he's better than Kolb.

With Wilson being cut today, if this happens..... I'm not getting season tickets for the first time since 1993.

The last two seasons have been brutal, and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay more than 2 grand to watch Carson Palmer throw victory-killing picks.

I already have basically no hope for the playoffs next season. And, I tend to be much more optimistic than pessimistic at this time of year. :(

There is NO evidence of this...none

The press is gonna push every QB avail at AZ for a story...it's the offseason.

So the 'Bret Farve to the Cardinals' story I just read is bogus? I guess it makes sense. I just couldn't see Wranglers are the official uniform sponsor.

I would be all for picking up Palmer, dump the three stooges Kolb, Skelton and Lindley and then sign Stanton with Hoyer. We would still be much better than our current state (which is so bad that I'm not saying the change would make us secure by any stretch) and then have a much better crop of QBs next year to draft :)

Dump the 3 stooges but sign Manny & Moe? Why not sign Jack (VY) while you're at it. :D:bang: Lol

I'm gonna laugh my ass off come week 3 or 4 when most on this board is screaming for the heads of Stanton, Hoyer & turnstile Brown.

At this point I expect the Cards to make dumb decisions..

This point ?

Gee, I must give you a lot of credit for your loyalty if it has taken this long for this organization to widdle away at you, to last this long in faith in their decisions.

Palmer is a little bit better than Kolb and has the physical attributes for the offense.

Its just that post-injury Carson Palmer has been horrible.

Palmer's 4000 yards, 22tds, 14 int... would have had us fighting for a playoff position last season (IMO).

His numbers were pretty good last year. Nothing like Brees or Brady or anything like that, but after what we watched the last three years, I could only dream for this level of production.
ATT Comp Pct Yds TD INT
565 341 61.1 4018 22 14

Maybe the biggest stat? He started 15 games!

Palmer would be our best choice. Palmer/Stanton/Draft Pick

Raiders really sucked last year, but they had that sort of production from their QB.

I agree wholeheartedly that he has the arm to go downfield the way Arians wants.

I'd much rather watch Palmer/draft pick than Kolb/draft pick.

Palmer is light years better than what we have now. I can't go another season with Kolb n co. I would be thrilled with Palmer, its an upgrade.

Then I would draft Mike Glennon as the long term guy.

you must not have watched a single Raiders game. my roommate is a Raiders fan, thus I was subjected to the atrocity that was the Raiders every Sunday and Palmer's stats say NOTHING about how he played. He put up lots of yardage and meager TDs in complete garbage time and just had awful turnovers and threw KILLER pick sixes at key times of every game they actually had a shot in.

Classic BIM. Whittle: Repeatedly cutting away small pieces. Widdle: To Urinate.

Come to think of it, you might have used it correctly after all. ;)
