I figured Brandon Johnson wasn't very secure. Just too light in the butt and plays way too upright, too easily knocked off his feet to play LB in the NFL.

As they say, he's a long strider which just doesn't work in the NFL at LB.

Am I missing something?

I thought Leckey was the backup C?

Welcome aboard Chukki Okobi! Fills our Boilermaker requirement.

I love that the Cards now have Chike Okeafor and Chukki Okobi...and that they're both Purdue grads...

(For the record, I grew up in West Lafayette, IN.)

Leckey is hurt and didn't even dress for the SF game.

Leckey is not hurt. He practiced the whole week leading up to the 49ers game. Which makes it all the more odd and why people are specualting that Leckey will be cut or traded.

The pickup of Moses made this an easy move and should have been seen coming a while ago IMO.

Apparently Leckey did practice, but he still has something going on with his MCL and is not completely stable to play

Leckey was on the sidelines at San Francisco in street clothes. I don't see why that would happen unless he was hurt. Why would he be on the inactive list unless he wasn't fully recovered? Are the Cards really that sold on Sendlein that they don't even dress Leckey, a veteran, and use an UDFA rookie, on the road, on Monday Night Football, as the #1 backup instead?

Interesting.

Interesting.

He was in street clothes becuase he was inactive. Both radio shows in the morning have been talking about it. Leckey practiced with no limitations the whole week leading up the Niners. That along with Okobi being brought in leads them to believe they no longer like Leckey after seeing Lyle play in Leckeys place the last 3 preseason games. That and having an extra 1.3 Mill to work with for extensions.

except that Leckey is a vet -- and as such, that $1.3 mm is guaranteed

I mentioned in another thread, but I figure Leckey's stance with him being so low to the ground is what caused Matt's footwork problems. I bet we only see Leckey again if Sendlein really struggles, or gets hurt.

I'm surprised. Leckey was pretty solid last few games of last season. What happenned? Is Sendlein that good?

I'm with DCR, I thought Leckey was better than Step but his stance is so low that with a guy Matt's height it looked awkward.

I thoguht Sendlein was a huge surprise, I was having Shawn Lynch flashbacks when Johnson went down but honestly Sendlein did quite well.

We'll have more problems with the DT's from Seattle, or Ngata from Baltimore, but so far Sendlein held up well.
